Historia
Chief of Police Windsor Elkhart is a master deceiver. Not a single person in Jasper has a clue he’s gay, which explains the endless suitors all vying for his attention. Happily married to his job, he’s convinced life is good enough. Twenty years of abstinence is the price he chose to pay, all because of a secret he’s too ashamed to reveal.

Excellent performance
Revisado: 05-08-22
Nick J Russo’s narration was fabulous. It just made the books and stories even better.
Not very happy about how the internal struggles were resolved through an external force rather than the breakthrough of each characters. But a warm story and a great ending to a series anyway

Historia
At only 32, Bishop Stockley has lived a hard-knock life. After doing five years in a federal prison, Bishop is back at his dad's trailer and working for his landscaping company, thrust into a legit world where he's no longer the alpha - a world where a criminal record is the least of his disadvantages, because Bishop can't read or write. Bishop already had the deck stacked against him, but he wasn't afraid of hard work to change his situation. Especially after he encountered Edison Scala, a kind-spirited office manager who didn't hesitate to come to his defense...

A Voice to Turn a Straight Man Gay. ;)

Weird
Revisado: 05-06-22
Not a fan of the writing style
Long slow burn, and yet the character building was weak
Conversation didn’t really match the inner monologue. Dialogue was far from enough and the little conversation in the book felt repetitive and forced.
The narrator has a deep voice. But the pace and voice for different characters were just off.

Historia
Life is beyond our control. It can bring joy, laughter, and happiness, then turn around and rip your heart out of your chest without warning. Abel Matheson received a cold dose of life's reality six months ago when the man he loved most lost his fight against cancer. Easy-going Abel doesn't know how to cope with the rotting, festering grief growing inside him. What was once an easy life has become a struggle to put one foot in front of the other. His grades are slipping, his job is suffering, money is tight, and the nightmares plaguing his sleep are relentless. Something has to give.

Simply beautiful
Revisado: 04-22-22
Deep dive into the journey of grief and standing up again. Great writing. No dramatic storyline, rather a detailed and emotional character study. Through the pain of Abel, I felt the deep warmth and human connection. Simply beautiful.
The performance of the narrator : STUNNING !
Can’t wait for the next one

Historia
Five years ago, I walked away from Sunbury, Oregon, and left my best friend behind. The move was supposed to get my life on track. I even had a list: Life changing epilepsy surgery. Check. See the world. Check. Get over my straight best friend... Not exactly. No matter where I go or who I meet, I can't let Tanner go. I'm back to tell him how I feel. To get the closure I need once and for all. Only now I'm here and falling for him all over again, it's getting harder to say the words. Because once I have my closure, I'll be gone. And this time it will be for good.

Alexander Cendese’s narration just ruined it for me
Revisado: 03-17-22
Story is quite sweet, writing is pretty fitting and smooth. Kirt Graves’ narration was very enjoyable: the pace, depiction of characters, performance overall were really good.
But, Alexander’s narration of the book just ruined it for me. He sounded very rushed, and read so quickly that there was no room for breath. Transition between dialogues, characters, monologue were just jarring. There were many sweet moments and great internal struggles in the book, but Alexander’s narration just ruined them all.
I would have purchased the next two books in the series, but after realizing Alexander narrated them, I just decided gave them up. Quite disappointing.

Historia
My world shattered on a cold April morning when they took my husband away in cuffs. The life I knew, the man I loved, and the world I believed in was nothing but a lie. He stole my trust, my happiness, and my faith in humanity, and I’m not sure how to move on. With my mental health hanging by a thread and a media circus following me everywhere I go, escape seems like the only answer.

Fabulous
Revisado: 03-14-22
Great story, great writing. Chef’s kiss to the depth and details of psychoanalysis and emotion.
Really enjoyed the tension between MC. The climax in the end almost turned into some sort of thriller, which I can honestly do without, but great book anyway.
The narrator is AMAZING, so much dynamics and emotion. Definitely one of my favorite! Made the book even more enjoyable.

I’m done hiding who I am. Pretending to be straight, to be the loving, devoted husband and successful ER doctor everyone wanted me to be, has been exhausting. I numbed the pain any way I could, and in the end, it cost me everything. My job, my marriage, the relationship with my grown kids. But now I’m in recovery, and for the first time, I’m living my true life as an out gay man.

Feels like lectures and speeches
Revisado: 03-13-22
Dialogues between characters feel forced and feels like lectures where the author is trying to teach readers about identity, age, sexuality and such. What makes it worse is those speeches, in the form of dialogue and inner monologue, feels repetitive.
The author seems to be trying to tap on something serious. But the wording, repetitiveness, and the depth of exploration made the book fail at both story and meaning.
Better off to read a lgbtq+ essay collection
Narration:
Narrator has a good voice, but the little to none distinction between characters, between dialogue and inner monologue makes it hard to follow. Whispering voice sounds quite refreshing and intimate in the beginning, but using that tone all the time makes it sound flat

I gave the rumor mill fodder for a lifetime the day I walked away from a lucrative music career without explanation. People can talk all they like; my record stores are my lifeblood now, and I'm devoted solely to keeping them afloat in the digital age. There's just one little thing distracting me: an Earth-dwelling sunbeam named Owen Harper. I don't know what I was thinking when I hired him. In fact, maybe, I wasn't thinking, at all.

A bit mediocre, and missed target
Revisado: 03-12-22
The setup of the story and the backgrounds of the MC are pretty interesting. Unfortunately author didn’t explored the dynamics enough. As a result, the development of relationship and love sounds a bit pushed.
Sex scene was not as steamy as author’s other books.

I get crushes the way some people get seasonal allergies. And sharing a house with four hot roommates is like being stuck in permanent spring. Too bad I keep getting friend-zoned. Would have been much better with just one narrator
Revisado: 03-10-22
Sam’s narrator is quite disappointing. Voices and accents of different characters are not consistent throughout. Can’t feel much changes in emotion or energy in the narration as well, feels flat. Pronunciation sounds weird and uncomfortable sometimes.
On the other hand, Jesse’s narrator is pretty good and enjoyable. Wish he did whole book.
Story wise, not as steamy as the first or second book in the series, but the characters in this book are fullest
