Molly Moon still holds up! One of the best books I read as a 10 year old (and I read a LOT), coming back to it 18 years later is such a nice trip. Performance is great, obviously production quality is as it was 20 years ago, no serious problems though. The pacing and story is just amazing, Georgia I wish more people could write like you. Thank you for giving us Molly Moon<3

Very educational and informative. Highly recommend. Incredible to find this work that truly feels connected to the old world and amazingly lacks the current woke narrative infiltrating modern witchcraft. The work of Barbara Meiklejohn-Free is a gift.

Very cute and well written. Comforts in a way I've not seen before, particularly for those who are lonely and/or live alone. The story also portrays the morbid event of death as something more hopeful than usual. The ending was a little bit rushed but good. Wish there was more!

A horse story... With no horses??

This book is laughably terrible. This author knows zilch about equestrian life and decided to infiltrate the niche by slapping a horse on the cover and tossing in a few horse-related phrases here and there. And when I say 'few,' I mean blink-and-you'll-miss-it few. Doesn't detail ANY care of the horses or riding until the last two chapters, and it's reallyyy not good. As in, author thinks dressage = horse puts head down. No mention of transitions, balance, etc. "woah he only put his head up one time in the dressage and he put it right back down!" Um, that's not dressage or riding...Not to mention the weird and completely unrealistic inter scholastic "show stable" where some students event, some ride hunt seat, no one ever rides or knows what they're talking about.

This book is your typical, run-of-the-mill boarding school drama. There's gossip, new step-sister - you know the drill. WHERE ARE THE HORSES? That's the million-dollar question because they're virtually nonexistent in this story. Save yourself the agony and steer clear of this literary travesty. An authentic portrayal of the setting would have been fine but instead the author chose a narrative that has been done to death. Terrible beginning, middle, and end. Nothing worth salvaging.

Don't buy this series. First book had a somewhat cliche beginning with family loss trauma, which was understandable for character development. It managed to incorporate enough magical elements to pique my interest. My enthusiasm quickly waned when I delved into the second book. The author heavily relies on one plot device after another, subjecting the teenage main character to a never-ending stream of traumas, including overly detailed scenes of drugging and kidnapping, as well as making her the cause of her mentor's death. Furthermore, the author uses characters who are portrayed as 'insane' or 'broken,' and they are confined to what can only be described as an asylum-like prison. This reliance on the exploitative 'mental illness and trauma' trope feels lazy and irresponsible, especially in a YA fantasy story.

Authors should strive for more creative storytelling, avoiding overused and harmful tropes. I found the excessive reliance on trauma and mental illness themes to be my reason to stop reading this series and not recommend it to anyone.

Tik provides insight few others can give. I appreciate being able to listen to him read his own story. The writing flows well without a linear plot, scenes transition with Tik's monologue, I could easily listen to another 20 hours. Educational, helped my anxiety. Thank you Tik. We need more books like this!

I think it's worth getting through the series up
to this point. But I really fought to get through this one with the change in narrator. The old narrator was just fantastic. This one has a very odd, breathy way of reading that neither speeding up nor slowing down the audio could fix. She was also very hard on her 's' sounds and made a lot of mouth sounds that made me cringe. But if that kind of thing doesn't bother you, its not a huge deal. I also feel the series is getting a bit slow and repetitive, this one was shorter and not much happened. The author is reaching for conflict with the constant relationship power struggle + insertion of problematic love interests. It is sort of realistic horse people are crazy but the characters seem so childish re-enacting the same fights over and over. I would rather it be more about issues that come with horses and competitions. I do really like that Jules has grown up a lot in terms of her business decisions/deciding to teach.

Go ahead and try to make it through five minutes of this. If you get through without a head splitting migraine, you must be deaf. Honestly can't believe someone put this many hours into such a terrible production.
