Excellent
Revisado: 12-15-10
Loved it...got a little tired of the main character always saying she is sorry..but considering the time the story was suppose to take place I guess I can understand...now a days someone would have taken care of the problems long before the end...was sad to see the story end. Enjoyed this book and a similar book called The Help.

Historia
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

So real.....
Revisado: 08-27-09
I had to actually buy the hardback to give to my daughter.. I was born in 1955 and I remember having black Help and babysitters in Atlanta. My wonderful Grandmother had her ideas and my mother balked and taught me different. This book took me home and I wish I could go back and make the changes that needed to be done. Loved it. Will listen again and again.

One night when he was 10, Tyler stood in his backyard and watched the stars go out. They flared into brilliance, then disappeared, replaced by an empty black barrier. He and his best friends, Jason and Diane Lawton, had seen what became known as the Big Blackout. It would shape their lives.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 07-09-08
Maybe it was just me because other ratings seem to be very good but I just couldn't get into this book. Very confusing to me. Maybe I was expecting more....but anyways I was bored and confused thru out this book. I had a vision of another ending. I still haven't figured out what it was all about after listening to everything.

Wonderful
Revisado: 01-23-08
I cannot put in words about this book. I am so sad to let these characters leave. For my future listeners.....take the time to do this book. I am so astonished that I never had heard of it before I downloaded from Audible. This will be something I will tell my grandchildren to listen to. I am astonished that it is not on all High School and
College requirements as a must read and talk about.

Historia
It looks like just another car crash: a head-on collision on a lonely stretch of desert highway that leaves one driver dead. But Tom Valle, the local newspaperman assigned to the story, is damned good at spotting lies. And for Valle, once a star reporter at America's most prestigious daily, this so-called accident may be just the ticket he needs to resurrect his career and get him out of the aptly named town of Littleton, California, for good.

Confusing
Revisado: 11-14-07
Don't get me wrong....I love this author and have on audible his other books but this one was alittle more confusing than his others. All of his work is deep and you have to keep on top every word to know whats going on. This one was really more so than the others. The characters seemed to jump around and I got confused about who was who and how they related to the story. I REALLY did enjoyed it (me and my dog walked alot of miles with it) but I feel I need to listen to it again because I must have missed pieces to it. If you can sit and not be distracted this is a very good book. Otherwise leave it for another time.

Not worth the time
Revisado: 10-16-07
I was very excited when I got an email from Audible inviting me to pick up Dean Koontz newest book ASAP. What a waste of time. It started out pretty good but about middle ways started to become a really dumb book. I have been a Dean Koontz fan forever and cannot fathom why he allowed this book to be released like this.

Excellant!

I couldn't stop listening to this. All the character's are brought to life and you know who they are. Not a boring part to it. You know how it has to end but you keep hoping that it doesn't.
