Historia
On the day the government decrees that women are no longer allowed more than 100 words daily, Dr. Jean McClellan is in denial. This can't happen here. Not in America. Not to her. This is just the beginning. Soon women are not permitted to hold jobs. Girls are no longer taught to read or write. Females no longer have a voice. Before, the average person spoke 16,000 words a day, but now women only have 100 to make themselves heard. But this is not the end. For herself, her daughter, and every woman silenced, Jean will reclaim her voice.

A bit too political at first... but
Revisado: 09-01-22
If you can hang in there, not a bad story. Several neighbors and I read this for our monthly book club. Many people did not attend the discussion. My closest friends were not able to get past all of the hating on "the system" and the politics of it. I encouraged them to get through it because at some point the book shifts and actually becomes a good story with an interesting dystopian idea.... what if? It's just too heavy in the beginning. my friends were reading a hard copy and I listened here, that may have made a difference because I could distract myself during the parts I didn't enjoy as much.

Historia
The secret behind France's astonishingly well-behaved children is here. When American journalist Pamela Druckerman has a baby in Paris, she doesn't aspire to become a "French parent". French parenting isn't a known thing, like French fashion or French cheese. Even French parents themselves insist they aren't doing anything special. But French children are far better behaved and more in command of themselves than American kids....

loved this book so much, I hadn't worked much on sleep with my baby but at 3 months old I decided to give these ideas a try and it worked like a charm! still on a great schedule at 6 month old and has been sleeping through the night ever since!
