It just fell short.

This is one of the books I will ultimately return. I loved the beginning, I was absolutely riveted. Once it switched to the third perspective things really took a left turn. It became far fetched and hard to get behind. The ending didn’t give me the WOW you got me that I like from thrillers.

I just wanted to say for some reason I always think Jim dale reads this one all raspy and squeaky. I like it though! This book gets more juicy and interesting than book one and sets up the story for book 3!

Becoming disappointed

I loved Lisa Jewell, her book “Then She Was Gone” made me a true Jewell fanatic. However, the last few I read have made me want to take a break and try another author. This book is a slow burn and in my opinion just not worth it. Characters are hard to care about especially “Joey”, events seem far fetched and a character is slightly inappropriate throughout. The narrator just didn’t plunge me in like I’m used to with Helen Duff and the voices barely changed. I found myself wondering “who is this person again?” I feel like if you can’t distinguish voices clearly you shouldn’t narrate (not that I could do it better believe me).

A good listen

This was a good book as all of Lisa jewell’s books are and Helen duff is an amazing narrator. As I said it is a good book but not a great book. The story is a slow burn and the ending was a bit too perfect for me but it is still worth listening to!

Just.. wow

Be warned this book is very sad but also so unbelievably beautiful. I was fully captivated the entire time. I even woke up in the night thinking about this book and was unable to do anything else until I finished it. Lisa Jewells writing is so beautiful and it really just us a masterpiece, especially because Helen Duff is an amazing amazing narrator. She made the entire story come alive.

I do not regret listening but won’t again

This was a good story, definitely had me guessing throughout. However, I do feel like it was rushed and then something happens (which I won’t spoil) but once that happened I felt like everything got really unbelievable and rushed. The ending left me unsatisfied. The narrator was ok, there were a few times I had to rewind because he mumbled and I couldn’t understand what he said.

Another adventure!

I love Brigid Kemmerer’s writing. This is the sequel of Letters to the Lost. And while I was very happy to be getting more information, I found myself only liking the Rev chapters. Emma is written in a way that so that it’s very hard to like her. The story itself is worth the listen. I wish Juliet could have been in it for more then 5 seconds though!
