Historia
In a not-too-distant future, a simple outpatient procedure that has been promised to increase empathy between romantic partners has become all the rage. So when Briddey Flannigan's fiancé proposes that he and Briddey undergo the procedure, she is delighted! Only, the results aren't quite as expected. Instead of gaining an increased empathetic link with her fiancé, Briddey finds herself hearing the actual thoughts of one of the nerdiest techs in her office. And that's the least of her problems.

Very weak/vapid female lead
Revisado: 03-16-17
Would you try another book from Connie Willis and/or Mia Barron?
No. This book idealized the passive women. The lead character "Britty" lets men lead her around by the nose. At no point does she question her own motives or seek any insight on why she ends up in bad situations. Literally - she thinks "Trent is a snake, that's why I'm in this terrible situation" and "I'm in a good situation because CB rescued me". Nothing about personal responsibility! Britt is a loser....
What character would you cut from Crosstalk?
Britty
Any additional comments?
"To say nothing of the Dog" was Wills best work - and that wasn't even that great of a story, I like it because a dog was a central character. I'm avoiding all Wills' working in the future.

A disappointing, half-effort from Moning
Revisado: 01-23-17
Would you try another book from Karen Marie Moning and/or Jim Frangione and Amanda Leigh Cobb ?
I feel screwed-over by Moning, she made her fans wait years for this books and it's crap! Fever books 1-5 were outstanding and were SUPPOSED to be the end of the Mac/Barrons story line so books 6-8 could be Danni's story(Iced, Burned, Flayed). But, Moning decided to go off on some crazy tangent on book 7 and it screwed up everything. She should have left Mac/Barrons alone and focused on Danni like she said she would do. But - oh no - Moning had to keep talking about Mac and the books were terrible after book 6. The publisher agreed with my conclusion because "FeverSong" is a mesh of two books - you can see it perfectly about half way through!
Has Feversong turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, it just turned me of Moning for good. There are massive in-continuities in the books and the storylines in Feversong are episodic and predictable. This book sounds a rough draft more than a polished finished product.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
it was fine..
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Anger that Moning's editor did have the guts to standup and say
'THIS BOOK IS HORRIBLE"
Any additional comments?
Moning should be ashamed of herself......this book is a glorified rough draft

Historia
Italy delights and stimulates with its magnificent cities and monuments, its stunningly beautiful landscapes, the glory of its art and architecture, the richness and variety of its food, the elegance of its design and fashion, and the vitality and charm of its people. Italian style and culture have been exported all over the world. The Italians are the most European-minded of nations, having emerged from a long history of regional fragmentation.

Just another history book
Revisado: 04-06-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
People not going to Italy.
What was most disappointing about Barry Tomalin’s story?
He wastes 1.5 hours, of a 3 hour book on history!!!!
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Italy - Culture Smart!: The Essential Guide to Customs & Culture?
I'd tell Tomalin to cut the damn fillers.....

Historia
When the immortal Fae destroyed the ancient wall dividing the worlds of Man and Faery, the very fabric of the universe was damaged, and now Earth is vanishing bit by bit. Only the long-lost Song of Making - a haunting, dangerous melody that is the source of life itself - can save the planet.

Worst voice actors possible
Revisado: 01-19-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Not sure - but it has none of the charm of the original (books 1-5) series.
What could Karen Marie Moning have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Stop writing episodic books and give a damn about the quality of the audiobook. Did she even listen to these actors before hiring them? Luke Daniels makes Barrons sound like a confused old man, and Jill Redfield southern accent is ridiculous! She makes Mac sounds like the "southern vampire Pam" from the True Blood series. Mac has lost all charm :(
How could the performance have been better?
Jill Redfield should have listen to Joyce Bean's or Natalie Ross's interpretation of Mac. The were completely on point with the accent and gave "life" to their character. Jill is mono-tone and irritating. Luke Daniels is a lost cause......
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Not from a listening perspective.
Any additional comments?
The producer and direct of this audiobook should be ashamed of themselves! They had 7 previous books of excellent voice acting to draw from, yet they totally screwed it up!
