Historia
The compelling new standalone novel from the Sunday Times number-one best-selling author of Unseen and Cop Town. With a missing girl in the news, Claire Scott can’t help but be reminded of her sister, who disappeared 20 years ago in a mystery that was never solved. But when Claire begins to learn the truth about her sister, nothing will ever be the same.

Gripping and Gory
Revisado: 03-13-25
The story weaves between the past and present, following two estranged sisters who uncover shocking secrets about their missing sister and their family. One of the most compelling aspects of the novel is the inclusion of their father’s letters, which add an emotional depth and a haunting sense of loss.
While I appreciated the narrative structure and how Slaughter skillfully built tension, I found the extreme violence and gore to be overpowering at times, overshadowing the actual story. Many readers praise Pretty Girls for its relentless, edge-of-your-seat pacing, but for me, the brutality felt excessive rather than necessary.
Others have pointed out that while the book delivers on suspense, it leans so heavily into graphic content that it might not be for everyone. Some have compared it to a horror-thriller hybrid, while others love Slaughter’s ability to craft deeply unsettling but gripping plots. If you enjoy dark, unflinching thrillers with intense psychological depth, this book might be for you. But if you’re sensitive to extreme violence, it’s worth approaching with caution.
Overall, Pretty Girls is a gripping, well-written thriller, but its level of brutality may not be for everyone.

Raw, unfiltered and terrifying
Revisado: 01-10-25
This memoir is a raw, haunting, and deeply emotional memoir that pulls no punches. Sarah’s unfiltered account of being trafficked into the dark world of forced sex work is as real as it gets, capturing the reader with its honesty and intensity. The fear, pain, and sadness leap off the pages, making it impossible not to feel the weight of her experiences. This book is not just a story—it’s a wake-up call about the realities of human trafficking. A gripping and heartbreaking read that lingers long after the final page.

Behind Paris Hilton’s meteoric rise from Upper West Side club kid to household name lies her self-proclaimed 'superpower' of ADHD and a hidden history that traumatized and defined her. Didn’t think I’d love this as much as I did
Revisado: 01-09-24
Being 36 years old, I grew up alongside Paris Hilton, always fascinated by her presence in the gossip columns. However, I was unaware of her incredibly tragic past, which many women can sadly relate to, particularly regarding gender-based violence. Paris's strength is admirable. While she occasionally touches on the lighter aspects of her glamorous life, the book predominantly delves into darker territory, shedding light on her struggles within the 'troubled teen industry' and the harrowing experiences, abuse and torture she endured at multiple boarding schools. Excellent read!
