Historia
A large country mansion. A locked room. A gruesome murder. Russian oligarch Alexander Volkov has invited 1,000 guests to a party at his palatial Surrey residence, Westgrave Hall. But while giving a private tour of the library, a gunman kills Volkov, wounding his ex-wife and slaying her new beau. Nothing makes sense to DCI Craig Gillard. In the blood-spattered crime scene there are no forensic traces of anyone else involved, CCTV shows no one entered or left the library, and everyone seems to have an alibi.

Not bad. Steers you in a direction and then turns left. Narration is good 👍

Historia
I live by one simple rule: no magic. Not too hard in the human world, plus it keeps me hidden from my evil sorcerer father. Safe. When I’m forced into using magic to save an innocent family, the jig is up. Or so I believe. Instead, I’m whisked off to an academy of magic in a place I never knew existed. The problem is - my power is completely raw, which means I don’t know my butt from a broomstick. At first, it's all wands, witches, and a new wardrobe...until I get caught in a restricted area with a dead body. Now, it's going to take more than magic to clear my name.

Predictable and kinda boring. Not interested in finding what happens next. Read Harley Merlin instead

Historia
Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother's mysterious death, he's lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers. One day, he's tracked down by an uncle he barely knows - a man his mother claimed was dangerous. Uncle Randolph tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god. The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday.

What's up with all these bad narrators Rick?!
Revisado: 01-22-19
The story is good but I almost didn't purchase because of the HORRIBLE narration. Rick Riordin seems to search out the most "Annoying teenage boys imitating Michael J Fox going through puberty" narrators he can find. It really makes it hard to get behind the characters when you want them to stop talking. Spend the $$ on more seasoned voice actors, please!

Historia
For centuries, mystical creatures of all description were gathered to a hidden refuge called Fablehaven to prevent their extinction. The sanctuary survives today as one of the last strongholds of true magic in a cynical world. Enchanting? Absolutely. Exciting? You bet. Safe? Well, actually, quite the opposite... Kendra and her brother Seth have no idea their grandfather is the current caretaker of Fablehaven.

E.B. Stevens' voice ruined it for us
Revisado: 07-05-18
My daughter really enjoyed the story by Brandon Mull, but the narration was definitely not to our liking. The guy sounded like a very squeaky Michael J Fox going though puberty on Family Ties and it was very distracting form the story. Do the authors have a say in who reads their books? We won't be listening to anything with this narrator again.
