A welcome surprise

This was not the book that I was expecting to read,though the forward gave important clues to the real plot. I was just amazed by the fact that I couldn’t turn it off. It was not standard sci-fi but it nonetheless captured my attention and was one of the most captivating tales penned by the master.

Poor attempt at radio theater

I was half way through when I realized that couldn’t say I wanted to finish the book. It never really gabbed my attention,and the technical recording problems were very distracting. I would not recommend this book, it free so….

Great great great tale

I enjoyed this story immensely,Scalzi has outdone himself with this tale of bravery and love of liberty. It seems very timely though it was written in 2018, we seem to face similar threats to our Republic today. I don’t advocate violence though others seem to want to fight for the false belief that our rights are being violated in the name of a false profit. It raised my hopes for the future.

A long way to nowhere!

This was one of the most inane books I have ever listened to, it begins as a ramble and by chapter 3 I have no idea what the point of the story is. I liked the idea for a plot in the description but it never materialized. Was this really a book about a computer writing a book, with long winded instructions on how to do it from a human teen, as well as instructions on how to use parts of speech, and definitions of literary tools and devices. There is also a mountain of boring descriptions of how the ship is configured. By chapter 3. I was a combination of bored and confused but mostly disappointed, in any case I could not bring myself to finish it, I was not invested in any story it simply never developed for me. the performance was better than the material but,,,,

Not a heroic story

It was OK but the characters didn't inspire me, more terrorists than eco-warriors. The end was a bit unbelievable even for fiction.

Great book - big rip off

What made the experience of listening to In Cold Blood the most enjoyable?

This is a great book but it should be a single 16 hour book rather than 3-5 hour books This seems like just a ploy to up the price of the book, once you buy the first you will have to read all three. The price this way is at least 30-50% higher that it should have been. I buy audiobooks because my wife and I suffer from macular degeneration so this was over-priced.
