Historia
"Who am I becoming?" That was the question nagging pastor and author John Mark Comer. Outwardly, he appeared successful. But inwardly, things weren’t pretty. So, he turned to a trusted mentor for guidance and heard these words: "Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life. Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life." It wasn’t the response he expected, but it was - and continues to be - the answer he needs. Within this audiobook, you’ll find a fascinating road map to staying emotionally healthy and spiritually alive in the chaos of the modern world.

Decent until the last few chapters
Revisado: 02-21-23
This book started out good, with solid information and reminders of how and why we hurry and do too much. The last few chapters about his political and personal life and eating practices were not on topic and left me shaking my head about how he ruined a book that started off well.

Historia
The last time Thread attacked Pern, the world was unprepared for the fight - until the Oldtimers appeared. These courageous dragonriders arrived from the past, traveling 400 years to help their descendants survive. But the collision of past and present took its toll. While most of the displaced rescuers adapted to their new reality, others could not abide the jarring change and found themselves in soul-crushing exile, where unhappiness and resentment seethed.

Good enough but not great
Revisado: 03-18-21
I read the dragon riders when I was a teenager and have wanted to re read them. When I saw this one I thought it would be as good as I remember Anne’s books. Unfortunately I kept waiting for it to get better and it never did. The story line was jumbled and scattered and none of the characters were solidly built. It was hard to follow and figure out who was who and why they were there, or anywhere. I kept wondering where the fire lizard was...he would talk about her and then it was as if she was of no consequence. And the dragons we’re definitely not the main story....overall I would say I won’t be reading or listening to any more of this author.

Story Did Not Disappoint!
Revisado: 12-15-20
I love the mystery and the depth of how the author ties the mystery of the lives of the characters to point to the amazing relationship with God. It comes together so seamlessly and shows application of how God loves His people and how we can find Him in the ordinary and the tough times. The narrator is good, but I wish the hero didn’t sound so gruff.

Historia
Raina Bretton is a rag woman in London's East End when a handsome stranger appears in a dank alley and offers her a glittering smile and a chance for adventure. Rothburne Abbey has a unique position for her, one that will take her away from her hardscrabble life and give her a chance to be a lady. Things she could only dream of might be coming true. But some dreams turn out to be nightmares. Though Raina has traded squalor for silk and satin, something about the abbey is deeply unsettling.

Great Story!
Revisado: 12-14-20
I loved this story! It kept me guessing all the way through and I was so worried about the heroine and how she would come out of the dilemma. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star overall is because I do wish the narrator could have been able to give the voices different intonations at times or just read the story in the same voice. Other than that, the narration was acceptable and I thoroughly enjoyed this story!

Thoroughly Enjoyed This story
Revisado: 08-20-20
I almost didn’t listen to this story because of one bad review, but I thought I’d try it and if I didn’t like it I could stop listening...I never did. I really enjoyed the characters and the story, it was light and funny as well as dealt with some real life situations and struggles in a good way. I chuckled and I frowned and gasped a couple times while listening. It’s definitely worth the listen.

She's always dreamed of following in her director-father's footsteps, and the reenactment of the legendary frontier settlement of Wildwood is a first step. The family expectations will have to wait.
