Hard to tell the problem

It’s difficult to tell if the problem with this is the story or the telling. The lady hardcastle books are so charming and funny and brilliantly read/voiced. This story was dry and kind of boring. The highlights being when Knowelden interjected. If read by someone with a more theatrical performance, this might be equally delightful. As it is, it isn’t.

Just awful.

I have read other books by the author and really enjoyed them. I am not sure if it is this story or the narrator, but this one is terrible. I couldn’t listen to the whole thing. The editing is also really poorly done with a LOT of inserted words that must have been mispronounced or something. It is so bad that it often sounds like a parody. Skip this one. And I am guessing the sequel since it is read by the same person.
