The Narrator was very good. A stable pitch throughout the chapters. Storytelling with the right focus on the important facts around overseas real estate investing. But this is in 2013 and it would be great to compare this with the changes in the author's views in 2020 as present day technology will surely encourage some changes in the thought processes around some of the advice imparted in this book. For me some of the useful insights from the book was about how markets cycle from boom to bust and then recovery. Some good real life examples highlighted. The round trip of transfer fees, not just how much does it cost to get in but also how much do we sacrifice to get out is something quite important. The give and take between the tax savings and liabilities between international taxation and taxes in the US. Foreign incorporation for holding overseas properties and impact of tax liabilities. The author obviously from her 30 years of on the ground experience in multiple international markets definitely has a great grasp of knowledge on the nuances of real estate ownership in multiple countries. She conveys the facts very well on the freehold and lease based ownerships. This was a good read for me!!
