So many distracting sounds. We don’t need to hear a splash when saying the word “swimming” or a woosh when hearing the word “flying.” It really distracts from the message of the book. I wish they had hired a voice actor to read this. The author emphasizes strange words in a sentence and drops the ends of words. I think the content was solid but I could barely follow it. Read as a physical book. Do not download the audiobook version.

I didn’t feel surprised by any of the unveiling in this story. I did enjoy that the book shifts to different perspectives toward the end.

The authors voice was challenging to get through. She has a New Jersey accent in which she drops the “R” sound from words like “car” and “door” and it kept pulling me out of the story.

Really well written analysis of why toxic masculinity is toxic, how deeply ingrained in our culture it is, and how we can move forward together. I can’t stop thinking about this book and keep seeing things in a new light.
