Historia
When the body of a talented photographer is found on the rocks beneath the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, DCI Ryan and his team of detectives immediately suspect the worst. But, since none of their potential suspects seems to have a motive, the case runs cold. Then, when another body is found dead on a lonely stretch of road near Hadrian’s Wall and their only suspect has an airtight alibi, the team are faced with another crime without a perpetrator.

Great story!

I love this authors creativity. I have to put a critique in here though on the performance. They should consider using someone else for the child’s voice. Sounds like a goblin of some sort, I cringe every time the child talks.

First SK book ever returned/ not finished
Revisado: 09-07-23
I wonder if he wrote this? Holly comes out of a story line that is one of King's best & most creative. That same person did not write this one. I love political commentary, but that is what non-fiction is for and it ruined this story. I'd love to see it rewritten without it... :(

Detective Matt Ballard may have retired but there's still plenty going on in the fens to keep him busy. Someone trashes an old lady's garden and daubs her isolated cottage with hateful graffiti. Trying so hard to enjoy
Revisado: 03-15-23
Pretty much what other have said but I’d like to point out that Sophie’s guardian is supposed to be Canadian. The US and Canadian accents are distinctly different, it wouldn’t have been so bad but this character had a Southern US accent, which doesn’t exist.
Think I’ll stick to the other series.

WOW
Revisado: 10-12-21
I do not normally review but had to as this story was wonderful!! I read & listen to books constantly for 40 years & when I picked the first book, it was a filler while I waited for another to come out…but now I’m HOOKED. I got caught up in this one for many reasons. I found my biological father last year…and was rejected. Of course, I didn’t kill him, he does have Parkinson’s though. It hurts to be rejected TWICE, but I did get a good Dad to raise me so I don’t think I’m homicidal. The storylines are phenomenal & the description of Nick’s alcoholism are so real, so very very real. Just WOW. And nothing like a major cliffhanger to leave a reader cursing at the author at the end!! Time to go start the next…

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Loved the Twist
Revisado: 06-06-19
I would have NEVER guessed the twist in the story and it came out so nonchalantly I had to back the book up to make sure I heard right. LOVED IT!
