I thoroughly enjoyed this short novella about Ren. It altenrnates between Ren and Spring. Spring being a worker at an antiques shop who one day looks in a mirror and sees and can communicate with Ren. Ren wants to be freed and realises Spring is his only hope so enlists her help. Great story left me wanting more of Ren and Spring.

I had alread read the Reverians series on kindle in 2017, but really enjoyed the story so was ready to re-visit Austin Valley via audible. I really enjoyed the narrator - I thought she presented the story well. I listened at 1.5 speed.

I love the Dream Traveller race having first met the race in the read the Lucidites series, I love how Ren pops in from that series. In the beginning we learn about the Reverians, who live in an isolated area where the Middlings (humans) cater to their every want and need. Dream Travellers are supposed to have magical powers, but a group of Reverians, including Em, do not seem to have received their powers and are labelled Defects. It's safe to say all is not what is seems, and when Em finds out the truth there is hell to pay! Lots of characters to love such as Em, Zack and Rougue and Em's sister Nona and grandma Tutu. And many to hate such as Em's Dad, President Vider and Nona. The relationships between the characters is a lot of fun. There are plenty of twists, turns and surprises along the way and the series is full of emotion.

3.5 stars for this one. This was my first foray into the Kurtherian Gambit series. I started on this one as I love all of Sarah Noffke's work. For me, this wasn't the same standard as her dream traveller work, but it was still an enjoyable read/listen (I listened to the audio). I enjoyed the space setting and the many different alien species. I enjoyed the Eddie/Julianna relationship, Eddie was a lot of fun and Julianna grounded him. Pip the AI was good fun also. A nice start to this Ghost Squadron series.

Where does Vagabond Circus Series Boxed Set rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

What a wonderful series. I listened to the audio book and it was my first foray into audio books. Steve Barnes did such a great job of narrating - each character had his/her own voice which was awesome.

Across the series there were many WOW moments, 2 that stand out the most.....(one being very near the end). The characters were well developed and all had many secrets. The Dream Traveler race is fascinating and Dave was using their skills to produce a magnificent circus. Then things go bad, real bad... There were lots of twists and turns around every corner. I loved Zuma and Finley, and Jack and Jasmine, and Dave and Titus, and Fanny and Oliver and Ian and the triplets and Sunshine and Benjamin, heck I loved all the Vagabond circus crew!! I was sad when it finished, but the ending tied up everything very nicely!!

What does Steve Barnes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Steve Barnes was an amazing narrator. He really bought the story to life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Many.
