It is an understanding of the rebellion of Christianity again all those forces represented by death and failure, the meaning of the empty thumb, and the world to come, overcoming the mirror of perfection to embrace light, goodness and Grace.

John Kennedy Toole - who won a posthumous Pulitzer Prize for his best-selling comic masterpiece A Confederacy of Dunces - wrote The Neon Bible for a literary contest at the age of 16. The manuscript languished in a drawer and became the subject of a legal battle among Toole's heirs. It was only in 1989, 35 years after it was written and 20 years after Toole's suicide at 31, that this amazingly accomplished and evocative novel was freed for publication.

Compared to other interpretations of Faulkner's novels, this reader fell short. Boring. Only the great story written by Faulkner, with a life of its own stood up for itself.

Virtuosa lectura de Mario Santini. Una ejecución impecable que nos regala las resonancias encantadoras de las voces habaneras, sus saltos mortales y sus retruécanos rebotando entre Sodoma y Gomorra plantada como un lagarto en el centro del trópico. La Habana Infantina y barroca, se alza en sordina y un desmedido e insano Infante prosa prosaico y vulgar, una obra de arte del erotismo que se abisma en una profana ínsula babilónica.
