Historia
Have you ever wanted to read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, and really understand what they're saying? Millions of others have, too. But getting a real understanding of the legal language of 200 years ago can be challenging - and as a result, few Americans know these important documents as well as they should. Recognizing this, Paul Skousen has written exactly the book you've been looking for. It's an easy step-by-step guide that makes these documents come alive.

Politicians Read This!!!
Revisado: 07-02-16
What did you love best about How to Read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence?
I've never read the Constitution or the Declaration before. I really liked the short simple explanation of the seven Articles. I loved the memory trick, lej sasr, GREAT!
What other book might you compare How to Read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence to and why?
There is no other book I can compare this with. The "Dummy" and "Idiot" books are too hard. This book made it really clear really fast.
Which scene was your favorite?
The list of powers given to Congress. I thought the constitution gave them permission to do a lot more.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened through the first part and suddenly realized an hour went by. It's a fast book.
Any additional comments?
I care a lot about our horrible gun violence problems, free college tuition, minimum wage, and what we're doing to our environment. I picked up the book because I wanted to know why the government can't fix these faster. Now it makes a lot more sense. This is a really good way to do it, read the actual words in the constitution and understand what's going on. Recommend it.

Where does Bassam and the Seven Secret Scrolls rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Among the top ten. I've already started listening a second time, I haven't done that with any other audio book.
What other book might you compare Bassam and the Seven Secret Scrolls to and why?
At times it felt like Lawrence of Arabia, other times Ben Hur, other times Indiana Jones!
Which scene was your favorite?
There's an experience when Bassam is taken by force. His encounter with a killer and his escape kept me glued through dinner until I got to the end of that part. Very satisfying, very moving, I could feel his pain and ultimate salvation. Beautifully written and presented by Mark Deakins.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The most powerful ideas in the world are so simple that only the good will see them, and ultimately endure. Take the adventure and watch your life change.
Any additional comments?
I'm old school, I don't pick up books that throw language and sex at my imagination. I liked this book because it was real world but PG-13 the whole way through. It was like Hitchcock's great movies where you think you're seeing things that actually aren't on the film. This book did that for me, created a whole world in my head that didn't bog down. I was moved and cried and laughed and was transported away to a real place without being embarrassed with the crude that others insist is so powerful. It works because the research is well done, and presented delightfully well. Mr. Deakins is a master and perfect for this story! I recommend this to all my friends.
