Historia
Zephyr, Alabama, is an idyllic hometown for eleven-year-old Cory Mackenson - a place where monsters swim the river deep and friends are forever. Then, one cold spring morning, Cory and his father witness a car plunge into a lake - and a desperate rescue attempt brings his father face-to-face with a terrible, haunting vision of death. As Cory struggles to understand his father's pain, his eyes are slowly opened to the forces of good and evil that surround him.

Engaging story with all the elements
Revisado: 03-23-25
This landed in my audible library though I’m a nonfiction knowledge addict. This story captured me throughout its duration. Its depth in messages, relatable content, and beautifully articulated events gave me goosebumps, made me cry, laugh and appreciate all that is human and extraordinary.

There’s a reason you were drawn to this audiobook. Maybe you’re dissatisfied with what you’ve been told you “should be”. Maybe you know there’s something bigger out there, waiting for you, but the people in your life just don’t understand. Maybe you feel crazy or alone, like part of you is dying. You’re not dying. You’re just waking up. Even if you have seen my content before, it's time to strap in and hold on tight because this is not your average text. It’s your soul’s reminder of how powerful you are, and of how much you already know!

Even if not speaking face-to-face, this has been thoroughly helpful. Understanding the dimensional vibrations and why I’m experiencing the inexplicable is helping so much. Thank you, Liz🙏🫶

Historia
If You're In My Office, It's Already Too Late. James Sexton knows this. After dealing with over 1000 clients whose marriages have dissolved over everything from an ill-advised threesome with the nanny to the uneven division of carpool duties, he also knows all of the what- not-to-dos for couples who want to build - and consistently work to preserve - a lasting, fulfilling relationship. Described by former clients as a "courtroom gunslinger" and "the sociopath you want on your side", Sexton tells the unvarnished truth about relationships. These usually derive from dishonest communication.

Brilliant Relationship Book!
Revisado: 12-29-23
If I could have, I would have listened to it straight through in 1 sitting. Thoroughly thoughtful, engaging, organized and educational. His points were simple and straightforward in how to love your partner, embrace authenticity in yourself and your relationship, and why relationships fall apart. Quite refreshing in the sea of “relationships are complicated” books. Sexton has put his heart, mind and experience into this masterpiece, and I’m so grateful I was introduced to him via Lex Fridman’s podcast. Fantastic!

Felix Dennis is an expert at proving people wrong. Starting as a college dropout with no family money, he created a publishing empire, founded Maxim magazine, made himself one of the richest people in the UK, and had a blast in the process. How to Get Rich is different from any other book on the subject because Dennis isn't selling snake oil, investment tips, or motivational claptrap. He merely wants to help people embrace entrepreneurship, and to share lessons he learned the hard way.

I heard Tim Ferris mention this book in a podcast recently, and thought he would have a good recommendation. That it was! And what a fantastic narrator 💯 Felix’s stories and personal experiences help to frame the rules for getting rich, and make this a light-hearted, fun and educational read/listen. I will revisit this one 👏💫

I think everyone needs to read and/or listen to this book. I loved the historical recap to boiling down the aspects that create a national world power and reserve currency. The overview helped me understand the tumultuous environment we are experiencing in the US today, to always lead with kindness and respect, and how I can make better financial decisions.

Thankful
Revisado: 11-21-22
The skills I learned in this course are invaluable. From personal to professional relationships, I remind myself that 80% of conflicts have a win/win resolution. I remember to put myself in the others’ shoes and understand where they’re coming from and how to meet, or not meet, their expectations. I’m so thankful for this relatively new understanding of conflict as a positive in growth and achieving a win-win, vs. the old, and common thinking of win-loose. I listened to this course 1.5 years ago, and I still review and appreciate the notes I have. I hope to pass these skills along to everyone. This course is a standout I bring up in conversation regularly. Conflict is part of our existence toward growth and particularly challenging today. Please listen to/read this great course. Thank you, Dr. Dues, for sharing this information.

This series of lectures provided deeper understanding and techniques for reaching the source. I have listened to “Untethered Soul” and “The Surrender Experiment” several times, but found this lecture-style series even more penetrating with concrete suggestions for reaching deeper. My favorite quote: “The mind is a place the soul goes to hide from the heart.” (Singer) So thankful for these teachings :)
