I’m completely current in this series and every time I listen, I have the same experience. Emily (main character) has zero relatable human characteristics. She’s cold and unemotional, wishy-washy and cannot read the room or situation. Simply unlike-able. Story line is good.

I do not like the way the narrator (usually great), tries to make the characters sound ethnic)

Less than stellar.

I am an avid reader - of smutty novels and other genres, but this was like none I’ve ever read. I had high hopes, but they were soon dashed. Well written, well narrated, but the content was dismal at best and boring above all. I will never regain the time spent on this book, but hope to save others. If you enjoyed this book, I’m happy for you! If not, you may be my soulmate.

This was very fast paced and enjoyable. Kept the characters to a minimum, which I feel helpful in audio. My only complaint was that I felt it lasted a bit too long.

I wanted to like this, but found it abrasive on a few different levels and felt that it lasted way too long.

I didn’t care for the back and forth (personally) find this difficult without the aid of film (visual), or in writing.

Inconsistent in some areas and the music was over the top irritating.

Unexpected pleasure to read

I underestimated how engaging this book would be. A friend recommended it saying it was okay, they were wrong! Great plot, well read. Can’t wait for the next book - this can be read as a standalone.

Not what I expected.

I did not dislike this book. But I’m not sure I liked it either. Extremely well written and read.

This is not a summer/beach read. It gave me things to think about that I will long be thinking about.

Lots of French tidbits that are not translated.

I LOVED this series! The narrators did a perfect job, the story line is unpredictable - in that it doesn't go where most books do and there's no drama from stupidity, it's all normal drama with well rounded characters and a wonderful storyline.
