While i really like this story and the overall series this book was entirely too long. I skipped roughly 5hrs near the middle and didn’t miss anything tbh. It’s very repetitive and boring at times. Just beware

This series i put off reading for a long time but honestly i was hooked almost immediately. Not sure why ppl don’t care for this book but i enjoyed it. Now i agree the narrator isn’t fabulous but the story itself is really good.

It had so much potential

The plot of this series could have been amazing the idea is fantastic but sadly the potential didn’t really translate. This has to be one of the cheesiest book I’ve ever read. The first book didn’t give much depth to the characters so you barely care about their relationship but this book not only over did the swooning to the point of constant eye rolling but there is also pregnancy trope which is an instant turn off. A girl from the 21st century who starts off as a badass quickly became boring and cringy af. Idk if I’ll even bother to finish this series atp.

This is the best of the series

This book is definitely the best of the entire series. The other books were ok but borderline boring. The biggest issue is the narrator doesn’t sound like a 25 yr old girl she sounds like Betty White which causes a disconnect between the character. Also the fmc is the same as every other fmc in romantic fantasy, a meek girl who discovers she’s different and all of a sudden she’s some magical warrior. It’s repetitive and lack luster.

I don’t get it

I’m not sure why this series has such high reviews. The first book was boring and this one wasn’t much better. I prefer a plot heavy book but the plot was stale. Also i don’t understand why there’s so many narrators but this isn’t done in duet style.

While the last 2 hrs of this book are pretty good it’s the first 18 hrs that are questionable. Diem is quite possibly the most irritating fmc I’ve read about in a long time. Like how selfish yet self loathing can 1 character actually be. The pity party she throws herself through 90% of this book is almost irritating

I’m all for a stand alone book but this ain’t it. It started fairly decent but the self loathing from the mmc became too much. Honestly, i hate i even finished this book

Pretty good

I like this series my only issues are the narrator sounds too old for a 21 yr old and there’s no detail about what’s happening with the evil king. Like she’s gone for months growing and learning but we don’t get any insight into what’s happening back at the kingdom which imo would have made this a 5star read for me. I love that it’s all plot with very little flirting or romance. I’ll probably continue the series but hopefully we get more war action in the next book

Boring

This book is incredibly boring and honestly pointless. Some parts were decent so i pushed through just to see where it might go but by the end i just returned it. I did start the second book but quickly decided to DNF after about 3 chapters. The narration isn’t good either. The whole thing was a mess

This is not enemies to lovers this is strangers to lovers with a touch of forbidden romance. It’s an ok story but drug on for too long imo. Mostly forgettable if I’m being honest. I tried another story from this author and it was worse than this so maybe this author just isn’t for me.
