Historia
Misinformation affects all of us on a daily basis—from social media to larger political challenges, from casual conversations in supermarkets, to even our closest relationships. While we recognize the dangers that misinformation poses, the problem is complex—far beyond what policing social media alone can achieve—and too often our limited solutions are shaped by partisan politics and individual interpretations of truth. In Misbelief, preeminent social scientist Dan Ariely argues that to understand the irrational appeal of misinformation, we must first understand the behavior of “misbelief”.

Not as good as Ariely's other books, it's OK
Revisado: 04-15-25
I really have enjoyed Ariely's previous books, but this one just seems off. From the beginning notes indicating names and stories have been slightly modified, some of the examples lose the impact knowing names and other references are not accurate. Also the misbelief examples regarding COVID aren't holding up so well as 5 years after the pandemic, many things that were "misbelief" turned out to be actually true and not the stuff of conspiracy theories (was a China Lab leak, vaccine and mask protection effectiveness, etc.). Overall a bit boring and repetitive at times. I look forward to other subjects though as I do enjoy his previous books.

Historia
The halls are decked, the deck is stacked, and here comes that jolly old elf. Junior Bender, divorced father of one and burglar extraordinaire, finds himself stuck inside the Edgerton Mall, and not just as a last-minute shopper (though he is that too). Edgerton isn't exactly the epicenter of holiday cheer, despite its two Santas, canned Christmas music, chintzy bows, and festive lights. The mall is a fossil of an industry in decline; many of its stores are closed, and to make matters worse, there is a rampant shoplifting problem.

First Christmas themed niior book I've listened to, but not too overt and well done with the theme. Narration was great as always. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Historia
Alex Delaware is summoned to a trendy gallery where a promising young artist has been brutally garroted on the night of her first major showing. There is no obvious motive, and the careful staging of the murder scene immediately suggests to Alex not an impulsive crime of passion, but the meticulous and taunting modus operandi of a serial killer. As more killings are discovered, unraveling the puzzle assumes a new importance - stopping a vicious psychopath who's made cold-blooded murder his chosen art form.

Revisado: 03-28-24
Listened to all Delaware books up to this on and this one is easily the worst. From a laughable serial killer, to awkward romance to Grocho Marx voices, this is really a stinker. Miss the old Delaware stories and original narrator. Don't let this be your first book in the series.

Story was pretty good but the switching narrators was distracting. Just stick with the male narrator as the female narrator's breathy delivery and comical male voices is just distracting.
