One of my favorite books ever

I love everything about this book. I’ve read it twice and am listening to it a second time. It’s a brilliant account of humanity, relationships and the therapeutic alliance.

Love this podcast!
Revisado: 02-27-22
As a survivor of trauma, I love this podcast. It’s informational and inspirational. Having the perspective of both Judge Aquilina and trauma specialist Shari Botwin is a perfect balance. Both women speak from lived experiences and from what they have learned through their extensive careers in the judicial and mental health communities respectively. I especially appreciate hearing their compassion for survivors and words of encouragement for the very challenging but rewarding journey of healing from trauma. Brava.

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.
