Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Love Stephen King
Revisado: 09-18-22
I really love Stephen King's writing. Even the stories I don't care for, I still admire the writing. This book I loved both. You get a great story written to keep you engaged and it's long enough to definitely be worth your credit. If that's not enough, you get a cameo by the man himself! Loved it when I recognized his voice.

Just one very long lecture. I let it play for several chapters and never got to any actual training. Returned.

Historia
Cujo is a 200-pound Saint Bernard, the best friend Brett Camber has ever had. One day Cujo chases a rabbit into a cave inhabited by sick bats. What happens to Cujo, how he becomes a horrifying vortex inescapably drawing in all the people around him, makes for one of the most heart-stopping novels Stephen King has ever written.

Children's book?
Revisado: 08-07-18
Does the narrator think this is a children's book? The way she reads it brings to mind a librarian, dressed as a witch, reading books to children around Halloween. I can actually picture her holding the book so we can follow along and see the pictures. The story is great. Horrible but great. It doesn't deserve this stage narration.

Historia
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

It's a book, not a recital.
Revisado: 02-22-18
I enjoyed the story and I enjoyed the narrator, what I didn't enjoy was the music in-between chapters. It threatened to drown out the narrator in places and it took me out of the story.

Who cares?
Revisado: 11-14-14
The story idea was weak, but okay. The twist felt like an afterthought that had to be pieced into the already finished product.
The characters were unlikable. Most characters have at least one redeeming quality and those are the characters you're not supposed to like. I just couldn't care what happened to these people. When the time came for character transformations, they were so unrealistic and unsubstantial, I couldn't really be made to believe that the changes actually happened, let alone stuck long term.
This story and its characters were such a waste of time that when I woke up after nodding off halfway though, I didn't feel I missed enough substance during my three hour nap to warrant backtracking.
I was sorely tempted to return this book.
P.S. Dear author,
I've hardly ever heard the happy birthday song sung in any way OTHER than accapella so how is THAT supposed to be what's mournful about it?
Also, if your epilogue is needed to explain and tie together THAT much of your story, you need another rewrite before publishing.

This collection features a menagerie of horror stories. Some are scary. Some are disturbing. Some are funny. Previously published in dozens of anthologies and magazines, some of these tales are mild, but some are extreme. Let the reader beware...

Summary fails
Revisado: 07-25-13
I'll tell you what the summary fails to....all these stories are about cannibalism in some way. Not scary...disgusting. I'm trying out authors I've never listened to before and this one I will never listen to again. I gave these stories 4 hours and they NEVER got better. This was the worst book I've ever purchased. No more Jack Kilborn for me.
