I liked the premise of the story, however, the origin for the technology that went awry was a bit flimsy. All in all, not bad, and Ray Porter is a great narrator.

For someone that enjoys pure fantasy without concern for much rationalization, it's a great story. Characters are pretty good and narration is always good with Mr. Bray. I would just appreciate a more solid foundation to base the events in the book on.

The Concept was Good

Well, it had its moments, but then it kept having the same moments. Action is one thing, but action for the sake of action just gets monotonous. Ridiculous amount of fights and near misses. The main character was a bit of a weak spot, as I saw from other reviews. The concept for the story was good, though, and I didn't mind the ending. Recommend fast forwarding through the fights once you get tired of them, and accepting the hero is a bit of a dud.

Very well done apocalypse adventure story.

Well thought out. Maybe a bit pessimistic about the way people would respond in an event like this, but could accurate. Hope we never find out.

Creative apocalypse concept. Characters are good and decently developed with some very entertaining and humorous characteristics. Descriptions of the environment are a bit inconsistent with the story, but not terrible.

The story is very well structured and evolves at a nice pace. Get to know the characters well enough to be engaged in what happens. Great ending too!

So Satisfying

The story was fantastic. The character development was right where I like it, which is the right amount of depth based on the importance of the character in the books. The story made me laugh and cry, primarily because I love dogs.

I really appreciated the attention to detail for real life matters. What author would know that the box on a new Ford pickup was made of aluminum and couldn't be welded to easily? Being a gear head, I really appreciated this and all the other accurate details in the books, such as the life expectancy of different fuels.

I've listened to several Bronson Pinchot narrations, and this one didn't disappoint. It is true, he does a very sultry female voices and sometimes not at appropriate times. I just get a giggle out of it.

I don't know what to say

The narrator was challenging to listen to. The voice of a 12 year old and very difficult to listen to for longer periods of time. The author really needed to think about the fact that this was way in the future. incandescent lights, really? That said the story had potential, but very disjointed a lot of the time. It was a struggle to finish this 6 book set and took several months. Wouldn't recommend it. Sorry.
