Fantastic book, but didn’t know it was abridged

This is a fantastic and really freeing book on parenting. However, I got to the very end and the book said, “Thanks for listening to this abridged version.” Aw man! So that a total surprise. If they make an unabridged version, go for that. Regardless, definitely get this book if you’re a parent—or if you want a better understanding of how God parents is with his grace.

Great spiritual mystery noir

Mike Duran strikes a perfect tone with The Ghost Box. Right from the first words, it has such a great feel of old school noir/hard boiled private eye stories, but mixed with spiritual thriller. I was worried it might be too scary but again it's a perfect balance of thriller-esque but not too dark. The narrator is a bit inconsistent and there were some editing issues, but the strength of the story overcomes any of those. All the pieces come together in the end, and Reagan Moon is fantastic main character.

Gary Thomas nails it with this book. There are handful of books I need to read every year, and Cherish is definitely one of them. He gives practical tips and biblical insights into how to not just love your wife, but cherish her. Get this and listen to it immediately.
(He also does a great job narrating!)
