Historia
He invented a machine to take people to the future. Then he was accused of murder, but he can't remember killing anyone. Billionaire genius Byron Gaines is accused of murdering his wife and her lover, but he swears he didn't do it. This couldn't have come at a worse moment: He is so close to a breakthrough in his research. He's about to invent a device that will change the world forever. The irony is, if only he had a little more time, he'd be able to make his legal problems disappear - along with himself.

Great story, great narrator.
Revisado: 11-24-19
I think this is Jasper's best standalone book. The plot moves right along and there was no dead space. He easily can throw unknown technology at you and explain it in such a way it feels perfectly natural. The narrator is great. I listened at 1.7x in my car, and I never got lost or bored.

Great story with unique narration style
Revisado: 09-11-19
I enjoyed the story. The main characters are very relatable and act 'real'. It is very easy to get into Jasper's universe, as he describes just enough about something futuristic without going into jargon or talking about aspects that aren't necessary for the story to progress. I'd enjoy listening to more books in this series.
The actual narration had some issues. There were two orators who took turns every chapter or so (one man, one woman). This usually represented different parties in the story, but not always. I found it more of a distraction to switch my focus to the different speaker's style. Each one on their own was fine.

Historia
Bill Steele is in the trenches, trying to survive in the competitive world of luxury vacation resorts on the island of Kauai. Then a dark shadow falls over the island. It’s not a lunar eclipse, because Bill can clearly see the crescent moon shimmering on the water. This is something else. Moments later, the meteors begin to fall. One of them lands in the water just beyond the resort. On the news, the anchorman is fleeing from his hillside vantage point with his cameraman in hot pursuit. Their muffled screams are the last thing anyone hears before the signal is lost....

ONE STAR -- I'm never staying at this hotel again!
Revisado: 06-30-19
Just kidding. I listen to audiobooks at 2x play speed on my commute, so it's important to me that the speaker is clear, and the story has a good flow. This audiobook had both - I didn't get lost in the plot nor did I have problems picking up where I left off. The book itself reminded me of Jasper's Rogue Star series. It's a fun trip and I can't wait to see what happens next.
