‘Iwa Young’s life is high in the Maui rainforest. As a field biologist, she’s happiest in the company of trees and birds and waterfalls. When a developer arrives with plans for a so-called eco resort in the middle of a forest full of endangered species, ‘Iwa puts all her energy into the fight to protect it. Wish that this was a true story… more often than most money wins in Hawaii. But I did enjoy the book. Mahalo piha .

As a native Hawaiian I can say story line is much like growing up in present day Hawaii; passionate, confusing, patriotic and everything between. Fiction mixes with non fiction events and stories of old. Mahalo to the author and reader of this novel . Maka’I loa ame mahalo piha .

Historia
Come on Shore and We Will Kill and Eat You All is the story of the cultural collision between Westerners and the Maoris of New Zealand, told partly as a history of the complex and bloody period of contact between Europeans and the Maoris in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and partly as the story of Christina Thompson's marriage to a Maori man.

Not much of a story line, but a great account of first Western contact in New Zealand, and also parallel world history events.

A preface to “once were warriors”
Revisado: 06-16-23
Not literally a preface to “ once were warriors” but ia great novel to precede any late 20th century book , that is if u don’t know much about pre western contact or 1 st generation contact with the western civilizations.
Slightly similar to the mark Twain letters from Hawaii.

Historia
Hawaii is the land of rainbows and dream vacations. But for some residents and visitors, the sunshine, palm trees and relaxing waves have turned from a dream into a nightmare. Across the state, an alarming number of people are reported missing each year. In fact, Hawaii ranks 8th (or “in the top 10”) among US states for the most missing people. Each episode, we’ll delve into cold missing persons cases from the Aloha State. Maybe, together, we can finally bring some of the missing home. Hosted on Acast.
