Historia
Hazel Hart was a successful romance novelist until a breakup drives her straight into writer’s block. Having failed (and failed some more) to deliver her new manuscript, she’s hiding from the world behind a wall of old takeout containers until her publisher lays down the law. If she misses her next deadline it’s The End. Desperate for inspiration, Hazel impulse-buys a historic home online and flees Manhattan to tiny Story Lake, PA. Upon her dramatic arrival—involving an incident with a bald eagle—she discovers the charm of her new home may have been slightly exaggerated.

This is right up there with one of my favorite books I have listened to! The story itself had me laughing or crying (good cry). I think this is one that I am going to listen to again!

Historia
Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.

Everything except the narration!
Revisado: 06-26-24
I didn't read the reviews before I started this book, as I have loved Kristin Hannah's books. I was only an hour or so into this and I really wanted to stop listening. The narration was horrible. Not that the narrators were bad, but they were not a good fit for this story and the young characters in the book. But, I am glad I stuck with it, because the story was great. I think the hard copy would have been the better way to go!

Loved it!
Revisado: 11-21-22
I listened to the first book in this series and liked parts of it. I am glad I did, as some of the characters are in the second book and it's good to know the backstory. But, this book is sooooo good! I loved it! Great story, great narration. Highly recommend.

Historia
Katherine Parker is on the cusp of having everything she ever wanted - fame, money, and acclaim. So why isn't she happy? In search of answers, she comes incognito to Hope Harbor on the Oregon coast for some R&R. Maybe in her secluded rental house overlooking the serene Pacific she'll be able to calm the storm inside. Coffee shop owner Zach Garrett has found his niche after a traumatic loss - and he has no plans to change the life he's created. Nor does he want to get involved with his reticent new neighbor, whose past is shrouded in mystery.

I just couldn't
Revisado: 03-15-22
This is a Christian faith book, which I wish I would have known prior, as it's just something I personally enjoy. But, aside from that the story was so predictable and so not exciting. Plus, the characters were annoying! The main character Katherine just had a not so exciting story line. I have to admit I did finish it, painstakingly. Only because I have only once not finished an audiobook and couldn't wait for this one to be over.

Now, after a decade of domestic disharmony on a failing farm, she encounters a shocking sight: a silent, forested valley filled with what looks like a lake of fire. She can only understand it as a cautionary miracle, but it sparks a raft of other explanations from scientists, religious leaders, and the media.

Great story, but the narration
Revisado: 03-26-21
I really wanted to love this book! And I think I would have, if there was a different narrator! I know she likes to narrate her own books, but uggghh! I listened for 3 hours and had to stop. I couldn't get past the narration long enough to enjoy the story. I plan to read the book. But will never listen to an audio book narrated by Barbara Kingsolver.
