Revisado: 03-18-23
there are a few cheesy spots, but overall it's a bit darker than the fun adventure of the first one. I thought it was good, albeit not as good as the first book, but it's certainly worth more than 1 star. I guess people saw this going somewhere different, idk...

Historia
By 1990, the Berlin Wall had fallen and the East German state security service folded. During 40 years, they had amassed more than a billion pages in manila files detailing the lives of their citizens. Overnight, almost 100,000 Stasi employees, many of them experienced officers with access to highly personal information, found themselves unemployed. This is the story of what they did next.

awesome read, recommend to anyone and everyone
Revisado: 12-14-22
I enjoy books that really dive deep into our history, and expose the frauds of natural human behavior: to control the population by any means necessary, whether it be misinformation or a combination of things that will be "free" to the public. it's all smoke and mirrors for the politicians to get what they want, and what they all want is power. you can start out in politics with the right ideas but if you don't play dirty, you won't get far. once you've been playing dirty for long enough you become what you hated. bravo to the creation of this book, and the time sacrificed to fill in many blanks and educate people who don't know about the Stasi. well done

Historia
Vick "The Reaper" Harwood is an esteemed sniper with a record kill count - 33 kills in 90 days - when he is knocked out under mortar attack in Afghanistan. He wakes up back in the United States with little memory of what happened, his spotter and gun both unrecovered from the battlefield. Harwood has resigned himself to slowly picking up the pieces of his life. But when a series of assassinations start occurring in the area, Harwood can't explain why he just happens to be nearby for each killing - or how a sniper rifle that matches the description of the one he lost seems to be involved.

thermal scopes cannot see through glass, and the terms for the color palettes are white hot and black hot, not "hot black". if you don't know anything about this technology then you will probably be fine reading it, but I've spent a lot of time shooting and hunting with thermal that it was a little upsetting to hear that incorrect terminology. I'm just nitpicking don't listen to me.

Terrorism in Europe has spun out of control. The United States has decided on a dramatic response. Now, the CIA needs a very special kind of operative. Scot Harvath has exactly the skills the CIA is looking for. He's a former U.S. Navy SEAL with extensive experience in espionage. Working for a private intelligence company, he will provide the CIA, and more important, the President, with absolute deniability.

the last time I read a Scott Harvath novel
Revisado: 10-19-22
coming from The Gray Man and the Victor series, I'm disappointed. It's not bad, necessarily, but you can tell the book is lazily written. The writer has lost the intricacies of the first few books. I can't say I'm surprised because I saw this coming. The stories of the Scott harvat series have been getting shorter. I feel like Brad Thor is trying to see how short of a novel he can come out with, that will still sell. It's not a bad book if you just want a light read, but if you're coming from the Gray man or the Victor series, prepare to be utterly disappointed. Scott Harvath is an amateur compared to Victor and the Gray man. and Brad Thor is proving to be an amateur when compared to Mark Greany and Tom Wood.

Historia
Before he was the Gray Man, Court Gentry was Sierra Six, the junior member of a CIA action team. In their first mission, they took out a terrorist leader, at a terrible price. Years have passed. The Gray Man is on a simple mission when he sees a ghost: the long-dead terrorist, but he's remarkably energetic for a dead man. A decade of time hasn't changed the Gray Man. He isn't one to leave a job unfinished or a blood debt unpaid.

awesome as always
Revisado: 08-10-22
Jay Snyder nails it again with an amazing performance. although the book series is starting to feel a little predictable, the overall story is still good. if you enjoy the previous books you will enjoy this one, however this book is a little less intricate, one could say. the earlier books were better and unfortunately this book feels a little like the complete catastrophe of a movie they made out of the first book. although it's not nearly as bad, it feels like the series might be headed that way. I certainly hope it isn't though. nevertheless I will keep reading this series as long as books are coming out. I have read the entire series three times now.

Matthew Riker keeps to himself, doesn't cause trouble, and never talks about his past. But after a chance encounter with a woman and a small child on the run, Riker will have to make a choice: use his hard-won skills to protect two innocent victims, or stay in the safety of his quiet life. What follows is an adrenaline-soaked thrill ride that will take Riker on a cross-country chase, through the seedy underbelly of a New York criminal empire, and into the darkest places of the human heart.

Not my style
Revisado: 01-18-22
If you want a basic book and another basic action hero story, this book is for you. I come from the Grey man and Victor the assassin series books, and this book just isn't on the same level. It's not bad, it's just not good enough for me, as I read too many books a year to waste my time with this one.

the depth and story in this book was fantastic compared to other books I've read such as the Brad Thor series that just has degraded over time. This one certainly has not and it's definitely worth the read.

I dont mind the story, but it feels more like a soap opera now than what it used to. the story is short and feels rushed like Thor is just banging books out because they're "harvath". not sure if I want to continue reading them.

Historia
Action-packed from the start, Hidden Order demonstrates yet again why Brad Thor is the "master of thrillers". A string of high-profile kidnappings has Washington, D.C., in a frenzy. When the victims begin turning up dead, frenzy turns to panic. And when the ransom demand is finally made public, panic will turn to terror. In Brad Thor's riveting new thriller, the stakes have never been higher, nor the lines between good and evil so hard to discern.

good but not like the earlier ones.
Revisado: 02-10-21
I'm not exactly sure how to explain it, but the stories seem to have lost their personal depth. I don't feel as connected with the characters as much as the first few books, but there are still some great parts though. Also, someone please tell Brad Thor that the saying: "no sooner than ...", is officially dead. He has said it so many times in his stories that I'm actually quite sick of it. Other than that, the book is a good read and I still recommend it. They just feel like they're a bit rushed, or maybe just running out of ideas for Harvath.
