Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Even better than the series
Revisado: 11-29-24
I was first introduced to this book through the series. This is not typical for me. I am a reader, and as such, I am of the school of thought: book first, movie or series second. The story was enthralling—I binged it.
I often saw the book at the new Barnes & Noble near my home. They had it prominently displayed on an endcap. The vivid orange cover seemed to call out to me. The title reminded me how much I thoroughly enjoyed the series. Yet, I put it back, thinking, "I've already watched the series, so I’ve ruined the book." Plus, I’m currently in my non-fiction personal development era.
Over the next several weeks, I longed to escape my non-fiction reading for something far more engaging and entertaining. I kept thinking about this book.
Finally, during Thanksgiving week, as the chef de cuisine of our holiday meal, I decided a book would be far more entertaining than anything else.
My God, it was!
I laughed, got sad, got mad, exclaimed... I went through a gamut of emotions as if I’d never seen the series—as if I were hearing the story for the first time.
Elizabeth Zott and Mad are two characters I connected with deeply—an older and younger version of myself. My struggles, my own failure to fit in. This story reminded me of the necessity of not fitting in, of being different, of being me.
The audiobook, nearly 12 hours long, served as the perfect backdrop for preparing our Thanksgiving meal. The narration was wonderful—more voice acting than mere narration.
This is a book that will now reside on my bookshelf, as I plan to purchase a physical copy as well.
Enjoy!

Paradigm shift
Revisado: 03-09-22
Rabi Lapin gave me a whole to perspective on money, how to make it, how to look at my business and so much more. This was an excellent listen. I am definitely adding this to my print library, and I'll be referring it to others as well. The narration was also easy to listen too.

Manology will help you weed out the cheaters, manipulators, and pimps from the good men, and it will give you the tools to know if your man is the marrying kind. In "Manology after Dark", the guys even give the lowdown on what men need in bed, before and after they put a ring on your finger. Some behavior can't be changed, but as Tyrese and Rev share, it's better to face the truth. Manology is your one source to help you take control of your love life and truly understand your man.

Good listen
Revisado: 10-05-20
I enjoyed the differing perspectives. Tyrese and Rev Run on the outside seem to be very opposite in their views on relationships. However, as you continue to listen you begin to hear how Rev's mantorship (defined in book) had influenced Tyrese. This book was very raw about some topics, yet that rawness was always balanced. Good read & many good nuggets to chew on. I'd definitely recommend.

Such a great little story. Staged in this current season. COVID-19 and all. I laughed, was shocked, and finished in one sitting.
