Historia
William Waters grew up in a house silenced by tragedy, where his parents could hardly bear to look at him, much less love him—so when he meets the spirited and ambitious Julia Padavano in his freshman year of college, it’s as if the world has lit up around him. With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family’s dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all.

Poignant and beautiful
Revisado: 02-11-24
A beautiful story that had me intrigued from start to finish. It’s a story of difficult choices that change the trajectory of lives. A story about family, love, and loss.

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Best f*<king story ever

Incredible character development, and descriptive writing.
“The Nightingale” by Kristen Hannah used to top my favorite list, but “All the Light We Cannot See” now takes the cake.
I read some complaints about the narration. I thought he did great. No complaints here.

The economic stories every American should know
Revisado: 12-11-19
Great listen! This book offers a historical perspective on why governments make certain economic policy decisions. The author is also part of a popular economic podcast called “Domino.”
