Kept My Interest!

I’ve enjoyed the many hours I’ve just spent with this family, as they struggle - sometimes against nature, sometimes against society, even sometimes against each other. I listened to it on Audible, using a sleep mask with Bluetooth headphones and for the past several nights, I’ve missed sleep because as soon as one interesting situation would be solved, another would arise! Thanks for such an engaging book!

Excellent depiction of some of the climbing obstacles faced by those willing to push themselves to the limit. But what part was colder - the climbers or the mountain?

Fun to think about!

I enjoyed this “movie that played I my mind.” The actors dud a good job and the sound effects added to the story. LOL, I was listening while sick in bed with a virus. It kept my mind off of my discomfort and made me have a vivid dream based on the story, taking it further!

Mesmerizing history lesson

Once again, Ken Follett has given us a mesmerizing history lesson with his skillful writing and a wonderful narrator. I’m sorry to say goodbye to these characters, now that I’ve finished the story.

Living another adventure

Once again, Ken Follett has dazzled me as he drew me into another place, another time. I listened to this tale with a Bluetooth sleep mask. His skill at creating characters that I cared about enhanced his description of life over 250 years ago. Well done and thanks!

The Teacher, as reviewed by a teacher

I knew, when I bought this latest thriller by Freida McFadden to listen to on my Bluetooth sleep mask, that it might keep me awake longer than I wanted to be. I didn’t know it would be so engrossing that I would find her story more important than sleep and would listen attentively for the next two nights. Being a retired English teacher who - between the 40+ years I’ve spent in schools first as a student, then as a college student, then teaching high school - found this twisty tale quite believable, I thoroughly appreciated the skill Freida has once again shown as a writer who captivates her audience. I know in a few months that I will listen to this one again, to further enjoy the subtle clues and foreshadowing she has used so effectively!
