Historia
New York Times bestselling authors Esther and Jerry Hicks present the teachings of multi-dimensional group consciousness Abraham. Abraham has emphasized the importance of our conscious alignment with the Source within us to live the life of our dreams. They have let us know that our natural state of Being is inside our Vortex of Creation in complete alignment with Source Energy—and that every aspect of our physical experience reflects our alignment with, or resistance to, that Connection.

Diving Right In!
Revisado: 01-24-25
I've just recently started watching the Abraham-Hicks videos and now I'm listening to all of their audiobooks. It has changed my outlook on life and brought me such peace! These guided meditations help to dive right in to setting positive intentions and incorporating the teachings of Abraham through Esther. I have been doing each different 15-minute meditation daily for a week now and I'm finding such comfort in the breathing and the listening.
I would recommend learning at least the basics of the Law of Attraction teaching through the Abraham-Hicks library before diving into this just because you'll have a better understanding of what Abraham is saying. If you're a long-time listener, you'll love them! Give yourself a few times going through one or two of the meditations to get the hang of the breathing. Listen to the music in the background and you'll notice when Abraham says to breathe in and breathe out. That will be your guide.

Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert's story of growing up with two dads - his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad - and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you. In the 20th anniversary edition of this classic, Robert offers an update on what we’ve seen over the past 20 years related to money, investing, and the global economy.

I was skeptical at first...
Revisado: 12-02-22
...but I'm a believer now. This book has changed the way I think about money. And it's answered the questions about why my parents, and now me and my husband, could never seem to get ahead.
WARNING: If this book pisses you off, it's probably hitting close to the mark. Swallow the pride and KEEP READING/LISTENING.
This book made me want to cry because I should have picked it up 20 years ago. I would be rich today if I had. Instead, my most precious resource - time - is gone. I will never get that time back, nor will I ever be as far ahead as I could be if I'd read this sooner. At least I can still build my wealth with the time I have left and retire with a sigh of relief.
PLEASE GIVE THIS BOOK TO YOUR KIDS, ESPECIALLY IF THEY'RE STILL AT THE AGE WHERE THEY DON'T THINK THEY KNOW BETTER THAN YOU.
And if you're in your 20s, read this book and you can retire and travel the world in your 40s while you're still young.
Let's close that gap between the rich and poor and make this world a better place! Because then we'll have less poverty, less pain, and more wealth to support our economy and our dreams.

Great Story - The Recording is a Bit Disappointing
Revisado: 12-06-21
Recording first - The production is stellar and the actors are fabulous, so it's no fault of their own. Whoever directed it or arranged the final cut wasn't consistent. The story starts out with various voice actors, but about 1/3 of the way through, the narrator starts doing the voices for the characters who had other actors doing the voices at the beginning. Then those actors come back in, and out, and in. It's rather confusing and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. I really wished the voices were more consistent.
Frank Herbert is a fantastic writer. The world is immersive and easy to get lost within and enjoy. There's a depth of history behind the story, even though much of it isn't all revealed. And I'm happy to say the pace keeps steady and true, like a pristine vessel on a determined path toward a destination, but one only the captain knows.
I highly recommend this book and am thrilled it's lived up to the reputation that proceeds it. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the series, which has been long overdue on my TBR list.

Great Resource for Learning About the Business
Revisado: 09-05-21
I started listening to this podcast to learn as much as I could about the screenwriting process and information about the "industry", as one of many sources during my journey. This podcast certainly has that and more. Guests are a wide range of writers and filmmakers from blockbuster to indie films.
I will say there is a lot of information that seems to be geared toward the indie filmmaker, which seems to be a different world than the commercial industry. At least that's the way I've come to understand it through this podcast. However, through those indie film stories told, I've learned I am certainly not an indie filmmaker or screenwriter. This podcast has helped me understand that I am definitely more of a commercial writer, and that's a good thing in helping me find my voice.
Additionally, the podcast topics are focused on feature film versus television, although there have been a couple of guests - more specifically Pamela Douglas - who have shared their experiences and wisdom about writing for television. Even though I am more interested in TV writing, the podcast as a whole has been very educational.
I started from the first episodes and have been listening my way through the entire library. I will say that the host was a little frustrating to hear toward the beginning, because he would dominate the conversation and constantly share his experiences as a filmmaker instead of letting his guests share their experiences. However, I'm glad to see that Mr. Ferrari has tempered those tendencies as the show has progressed. What he shares is now more of a balance and a dialogue with his guests and the information gleaned is priceless.
I would recommend this podcast for anyone who is looking to find their voice, learn about the movie industry and get on the right path toward a career in either indie filmmaking or screenwriting. Break a leg!

As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote...and more sinister. Took waaaayyyy too long to get to the point
Revisado: 06-28-21
I've read other Stephen King books, and wasn't very impressed. The Shining surprised me and was a good story overall. I liked his word choices. I liked the building of the storyline, but would have enjoyed it more if it was shorter.
There got to be several points during the book that I really wished he would have gotten to the point a lot sooner. The amount of story that he built was a bit unnecessary as far as I was concerned. I understand the need to build suspense, but this was over the top. It didn't really pick up speed until about 3/4 of the way through the book. There is no way I could have read this from the ebook or paperback. The Audible version made it much more bearable.
Scott Campbell is an actor I really enjoy and I thought he did a fabulous job at the audiobook performance. It definitely helped with carrying me through to the end.
I am also not fond of Stephen King's endings to his stories, but this one was very satisfactory.

Yes...It IS the LAST Book on Novel Writing...
Revisado: 10-23-18
Yes...this IS the LAST book on novel writing you'll ever need. And it should be the FIRST if you're just getting into novel writing.
I've been writing for over 20 years and this book takes the guess work out of how to write a GOOD or even SPECTACULAR novel. As an editor, I've encountered hundreds of horrible stories that had a ton of potential. If I had this book when I was an editor, I would have recommended it to every single one of my writers. It not only helps you craft a great story, but it helps you tighten up one you have already written.
I was a bit put off at first that the author was narrating the novel (because that doesn't go well more often than not), but I'm too busy NOT to have bought the audiobook. I just don't have the time to sit down and focus in the middle of a remodel and I've already read the Save the Cat! books for screenplays. I knew this would be good. My attitude was that I would grin and bear it and glean the information. Jessica Brody did a surprisingly good job and the production quality was superb! No clicks, inappropriate breaths or technical issues.
This has already helped me figure out what's wrong with my current WIP (work in progress) and why my other novels aren't as good as they can be. I'll be recommending this to all my author friends and I won't plot another book without it!

A Little Disappointed
Revisado: 10-16-18
Although I'm very late to the Star Wars fiction novels, I've been a huge fan of the movies since Episode IV in 1977. I was eight years old when I saw it on the big screen and I've been glued to that screen ever since.I've heard a ton of praise for Timothy Zahn's Star Wars stories and how they reignited the interest in Star Wars through the novels. I didn't dive into Zahn's books at the start. I've been reading other novels of favorite characters.
Having a new interest in the Chiss character Thrawn, I decided to try my first Zahn novel with "Heir to the Empire" and enjoy the 20th Anniversary Edition. I have mixed feelings. As an ex-editor of fiction, most reading for me has been spoiled since editors notice a lot more technical issues with books than the average reader, so I had to put my editor's hat aside at the older writing style predominant in the 90s...and Zahn's style is no different.
What I had a huge problem with in this novel were two major points: 1) The constant recycling of Star Wars dialogue from the first three movies and 2) some of the lame character issues with Mara Jade. I don't want to spoil too much, but Mara Jade is set up at the very beginning of the story with one goal in mind driven by intense hatred. The reveal of what drove her hate was a big let-down and then when she finally had the chance to accomplish her one goal, she failed just for the simple lack of effort. It's not that she tried and failed. It's that she had her quarry practically gift wrapped and she didn't follow through. Her whining and complaining throughout the entire novel not only made her unlikable, but the purpose of the character was pretty much reduced to her complaints. She really didn't need to be in the story when it came down to brass tacks.
I will say I have been enjoying the character Thrawn and the story revolving his tactics and how he is trying to rebuild the Empire fleet is fascinating. I'm getting a little tired of the dark Jedi thread, which is a bit over the top for my tastes and goes right along with the Mara Jade storyline distaste.
Because the novel is left with a major cliff hanger, I've downloaded the other two books, but as I'm listening to Book 2, Mara Jade is back with the same pointless goal in Book 1, which shows no growth in the character whatsoever. NOT looking forward to her part in this next installment. I am interested in what happens with Han, Leia, Luke and Lando, so that's why I'm continuing...but just barely.
If I was reading this book instead of listening to it, I would have put it down and I have to credit the narrator for my reasons to continue with the trilogy. The voice talents of Marc Thompson are astounding! My enjoyment of the story is almost solely in his voice and how he can recreate the voices of the characters I know so well, but it's more than that. He's given the Star Wars characters a wonderful life of their own and makes me feel like I'm spending time with old friends. For his talents alone, I recommend spending your credits on these books.
I hate to say it, but I just don't understand what all the hype is with Timothy Zahn's books. I'm hoping I'll be surprised in his other novels because I'm slowly going through the Star Wars series. THE BEST Star Wars novel I've listened to so far - on story content alone - has been "Tarkin: Star Wars" by James Luceno. Learning about the first Grand Moff and his rise to become the commander of the Death Star was FANTASTIC! I highly recommend it. And Euan Morton's performance is wonderful!

So Happy to be learning French!
Revisado: 07-06-18
One of the best courses I have taken for French. Definitely be sure to take only 1 lesson per day. There is an obvious difference in retention if done daily versus several lessons at once.
I enjoy the reviews as you go through each of the lessons and the challenge of being asked how to translate something from English to French.
I highly recommend, but be sure to get all the following lessons to keep going. This first Five Lessons is nowhere near the amount of language learning you need to get around, let alone speak fluently.
