Historia
Sharing lodging in the sleepy English village of Walmsley Parva has eased some of the financial strain on the two old school chums, but money is still tight in these years following the Great War. So when the local vicar - and pigeon-racing club president - approaches them with a private inquiry opportunity, the ladies accept. There's been a spot of bother: The treasurer has absconded with the club's funds and several prized birds. But when they visit the man's loft, they find their elusive quarry lying in white feathers and a pool of crimson blood - the only witnesses cooing mournfully.

The narrator is AMAZING!
Revisado: 11-06-24
The story lines for this series are perfect. The narrator is amazing. They are the perfect cozy mysteries with great characters, a little history and a murder that isn’t obvious! Great listen!

Historia
Fourteen-year-old Carey and six-year-old Jenessa have been living in the woods with their mother for as long as they can remember; the sheltering trees and a broken-down camper are all they know. But what they’ve never been told is that Carey vanished from the real world ten years ago, when their mother took her, causing an uproar in the media - and in her father’s life.

Cried many times during this story
Revisado: 12-27-23
The story was written so well and I enjoyed, odd word choice for this type of material, the book a lot. Several have complained about the narrator’s accent. As a person from the south, I honestly thought she did a great job. There are many regional dialects to pick up and get any of those “just right” is an impossible task, unless you are born to it. She did a fantastic of not making her sound like the Hollywood version of southern—- the accent you get, even from stars born and raised in the south, when they try to sound like what everyone “thinks” we sound like.
Well worth the credit spent and definitely a listening recommendation.

Excellent story!

Excellent story, as always. I listened to it in 2 days. The 2 narrators were perfect. I thought the story flowed nicely and the time switch was handled well.

Historia
Erin Coleridge's used bookstore in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire, England, is a meeting place for the villagers and, in particular, for the local Jane Austen Society. At the Society's monthly meeting, matters come to a head between the old guard and its young turks. After the meeting breaks for tea, persuasion gives way to murder with extreme prejudice when president Sylvia Pemberthy falls dead to the floor. Poisoned? Presumably, but by whom? And was Sylvia the only target?

I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. Nothing too over the top or graphic. Looking forward to more from this series and this author.

Terrific overview
Revisado: 10-16-21
This broadcast was a terrific overview of C. J. Sansom’s book also titled Sovereign. I missed the details and Steven Crossley’s take on Shardlake. I did enjoy hearing the correct pronunciation of some of the words and it is nice to hear the different voices.
