Easy Action Steps and Chapter Summaries
Revisado: 12-13-24
Wisdom University books are awesome because they include action steps and a chapter summary and the end of every chapter. Reading is great, action is better!
I loved the reference to Stephen Covey's quadrant, as a great reminder, I can prioritize what I'm taking on now.
How to use:
1. Listen the succinct chapters which expertly summarize the latest science on a topic and provide relateable examples
2. DO the action item(s) summarized at the end of each chapter
3. Refer back to the chapter summary in the future to refresh your learnings

I liked the first book a little better, but this was still good. I enjoyed the perspective on a unified Africa. The voices of the narrator were entertaining.

"True belonging doesn't require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are." Social scientist Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, has sparked a global conversation about the experiences that bring meaning to our lives - experiences of courage, vulnerability, love, belonging, shame, and empathy. In Braving the Wilderness, Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization.

On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

I liked the narration changes and sound effects, although the vocal audio needed to be a bit louder than the sound effects which ended up being overly loud

Historia
If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. On May 17, 2014, Admiral William H. McRaven addressed the graduating class of the University of Texas at Austin on their Commencement day. Taking inspiration from the university's slogan, "What starts here changes the world," he shared the ten principles he learned during Navy Seal training that helped him overcome challenges not only in his training and long Naval career, but also throughout his life; and he explained how anyone can use these basic lessons to change themselves - and the world - for the better.

Historia
Why do only a few people get to say "I love my job?" It seems unfair that finding fulfillment at work is like winning a lottery; that only a few lucky ones get to feel valued by their organizations, to feel like they belong. Imagine a world where almost everyone wakes up inspired to go to work, feels trusted and valued during the day, then returns home feeling fulfilled. This is not a crazy, idealized notion. Today, in many successful organizations, great leaders are creating environments in which people naturally work together to do remarkable things.

Historia
Explore the power of the underdog in Malcolm Gladwell's dazzling examination of success, motivation, and the role of adversity in shaping our lives, from the best-selling author of The Bomber Mafia. Three thousand years ago on a battlefield in ancient Palestine, a shepherd boy felled a mighty warrior with nothing more than a stone and a sling, and ever since then the names of David and Goliath have stood for battles between underdogs and giants. David's victory was improbable and miraculous. He shouldn't have won. Or should he have?

Riveting
Revisado: 02-04-15
I listen to this book through audible. The author narrated his own work, and that lend credibility to the read. The book captured my attention and I found excuses to drive simply to listen to the book further. The collection of facts and interesting stories where captivating. The only criticism I have regarding the book is that it lacked a summary at the end tying everything back to The original story of David and Goliath, and how underdogs actually defeat their Giants.
