Historia
Teenage girls are taking courses of testosterone and disfiguring their bodies. Parents are undermined; experts are over-relied upon; dissenters in science and medicine are intimidated; free speech truckles under renewed attack; socialized medicine bears hidden consequences; and an intersectional era has arisen in which the desire to escape a dominant identity encourages individuals to take cover in victim groups. Every person who has ever had a skeptical thought about the sudden rush toward a non-binary future but been afraid to express it - this book is for you.

Historia
David Marquet, an experienced Navy officer, was used to giving orders. Marquet acted like any other captain until, one day, he unknowingly gave an impossible order, and his crew tried to follow it anyway. Marquet realized he was leading in a culture of followers, and they were all in danger unless they fundamentally changed the way they did things. Struggling against his own instincts to take control, he instead achieved the vastly more powerful model of giving control.

Healing, heart breaking and hopeful!
Revisado: 10-07-19
Don't judge a book by the 2% of it's author's politics. There is so much goodness and utility in these 12 rules that it's worth reading at least twice. Life is complex and rife with horrors and darkness. When someone offers you a pen of light, as Jordan Peterson has, take the gift. The 12 Rules of Life is just such a pen.

Fantastic summary of auto hypnosis
Revisado: 09-06-18
this book is really well written. I appreciated all the geek and nerd Easter eggs embedded within the narrative! a lot of the material reminds me very much of Tony Robbins book awaken the giant Within or unlimited power. He even quotes from one of robins oft-quoted books, Man's Search for meaning by Viktor Frankl. the 21 Day program at the end of the book, is also a really good introduction to autohypnosis. I enjoyed listening and learned a lot. live long and hack hard.

Historia
Armored cars, burner phones, top-notch weaponry, and top-secret missions - this is the life of today's private military contractor. Like author Simon Chase, many PMCs were once the world's top military operatives, and since retiring from outfits like US Navy SEAL TEAM Six and the UK's Special Boat Service, they have devoted their lives to executing missions too sensitive for the government to acknowledge. Chase reveals here for the first time the operations too hazardous and politically volatile to be officially sanctioned by his employers.

A lost soul's exciting, disjointed, life story
Revisado: 12-17-17
When Eric Prince wrote Civilian Warriors, the main theme was to restore the integrity to the Blackwater name by defending its history. When P.W. Singer wrote his book on private military contractors (PMC), the main theme was exposing them so American decision makers could make more informed choices about their use and function. This book did not seem to have a main theme. For the author, being a PMC was fun, but also terrible. He was well paid, but suffered insurmountable costs.

Blackwater is one of the most misunderstood companies of our time. As Erik Prince, its founder and former CEO, writes: "Hundreds of American citizens employed by private military contractors, or PMCs, would lose their lives helping our government wage wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, only to have their memory tarnished by the unfair and/or ignorant depiction of PMCs as profiteers, jackbooted thugs, or worse."
