Historia
In the summer of 1985, when she was fifteen, Eliza was kidnapped by Walter and held hostage for almost six weeks. He had killed at least one girl and Eliza always suspected he had other victims as well. Now on death row in Virginia for the rape and murder of his final victim, Walter seems to be making a heartfelt act of contrition as his execution nears. Though Eliza wants nothing to do with him, she's never forgotten that Walter was most unpredictable when ignored.

Just okay.....

While I finished this book I was not enthralled with it, like most other books; this took me longer to finish than any other audiobook I've ever listened to. It was not horrible, just not captivating, I didn't fall in love with any of the characters. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this book.

This was such a good book, and while there were some predictable parts for the most part I was shocked and surprised with every twist and turn. I recommend this read to anyone who likes breathtaking moments of suspense! Such a good read...

Historia
A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets 16-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

Breathtakingly good
Revisado: 10-02-16
This book was so amazing, I almost listened straight through. There were no periods of incoherent babbling of nonsense, this is jam packed with action and kept me on the edge of my seat; and wanting more! I think of this book as more young adult reading material but nonetheless I throughly enjoyed it. I see there is a sequel but I'm afraid there is no way it could possibly be as good as this book, guess I'll have to read it to find out! Read this, you will not be disappointed!!

Surprisingly amazing
Revisado: 09-22-16
I was honestly not expecting much from this book, however this book was amazing! I found myself wanting to hear more from Sophie and her situation at home. I also found myself crying A LOT but I cry easily, as a mother I found myself having compassion for Grace and the unimaginable pain she must have felt. I highly recommend this book. Heartfelt and beautifully written

Exceptional
Revisado: 05-22-16
This book is very good, however I don't know that I would say it's better than You, the first book in this series. The narrator is spot on in both books and makes these stories come to life!! If you enjoyed You, then you will like this book, this just wraps everything up so you can sleep at night. Do not read this without reading You, there are way too many references you won't understand if not.

Awful narrator
Revisado: 03-09-16
The story was good, didn't care for the ending but the worst was the narrator smacking his lips or clicking his tongue after every few words!! I wanted to hear the story but this lip smacking was so loud it was all I could hear and pay attention to. In other words listen to this with a different narrator.

Under the name Melanie Denison, she has spent the last fifteen years in small-town West Virginia as part of the Witness Protection Program. Let down
Revisado: 01-03-16
I really thought this book was going to be great but it left me feeling unsatisfied and sad. The ending had a twist but not a good one, don't get me wrong I love sick and twisted but this book is neither, it's just depressing. With that being said I'm not sure if I'm depressed over the storyline or that I wasted a credit. The narration was great! But if you're reading this review wondering if you should use a credit on this book, I vote no.

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

As good as gone girl
Revisado: 04-21-15
Like most of the others, I read Gone Girl first and needing more I found Dark Places. I read & reRead the reviews and waited months before getting Dark Places, other reviewers made it sound awful & depressing. I am SO glad I took the chance & got this book, it was every bit as good as Gone Girl, and I would recommend it to anyone. Beautifully written, & a real page turner
