Historia
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Nothing happens until the last chapter or 2, then in the next book it goes back to nothing happening.
Revisado: 04-18-25
These books are 90% filler, just random interactions or discussing the same issues repeatedly with no new information.
Despite being a series about an impending magical apocalypse where MC is the only wizard and therefore the only person who can stop it, in practice the series has almost no plot. I've looked up discussions of further books in the series and seemingly nothing changes. Half of the few potential problems get solved by accident by entirely unrelated characters with no consequences to the story.
If you like urban fantasy stories where nothing ever happens and it's just people talking, this is for you.

Historia
The enemy unknowingly opened a portal to the Netherworld, and our world’s only wizard somehow managed to close it. Unfortunately, something got through. Something big. A dragon. Now Kaz Wolfe, with help from his dog Duke who is channeling the spirit of a wizard from ancient Babylon, and with no help from Azib the Cowardly Genie, must find the dragon before someone gets a cellphone video of the thing, and the world learns that magic is real. Or, you know, before the dragon eats someone.

90% Filler
Revisado: 03-16-25
First 90% of the book can be summed up as "MC and gf improve their teamwork via wacky activities." Many could have been fun as one offs, but 13h of a 14h book is that stuff. You could probably give a 1 paragraph summary of the book to someone and tell them to skip it and they'd presumably have the same book 6 experience, but with less tedium.
Dunno if the author just lost all idea of where to take the story or what, but this was an outright bad entry in an otherwise good series.

Historia
Many years and even more levels have passed since Jake and friends entered Nevermore. With quite a number of floors passed, they turn their attention to the Challenge Dungeons. These Challenge Dungeons offer – as the name suggests – unique challenges and circumstances, and completing them will earn each Nevermore competitor points and multipliers to their existing points. As things unfold, it quickly becomes clear it’s through these dungeons that the true top-scorer of the Nevermore Leaderboards will be found.

Nevermore is too long
Revisado: 03-07-25
The beginning of the book acknowledges the arc is too long, and then spends the entire book on 4 challenge dungeons, with 1 to go. Self awareness with a failure to correct the problem.
Nevermore is presumably gonna be at least half of the next book and I just... don't care. I care about the end of Nevermore and the repercussions, I do not care anymore what happens inside of it.

Historia
I’ve always wanted to conquer the Big 5 dungeons ever since one of them took the life of my father nearly fifteen years ago. Nobody ever said the Path of Progression was easy, but my burning desire to dive can’t be quenched. I just never thought I’d be prohibited from getting a diving license just because I tried to help a bratty blonde girl get hers. Soon, we’re joined by a lovely brunette bookworm, and we start diving the dungeon on our own terms.

unexplained nonsense
Revisado: 03-04-25
The author continually has magic act oddly or people act oddly and never explains any of it.
example, humans entering a safe zone that monsters can't enter, except the assassin also can't enter. Why not? They're human. But everyone just takes it as an assumption they can't enter with no explanation of why. Those types of things are EVERYWHERE. The banter is the only good thing about the series. The plot and character choices are total nonsense you're expected to never question at all, else absolutely all of it falls apart.

Historia
In a Post-Apocalyptic world of Magic and Machinery, Jack Knight is an orphan who finds himself caught between a life-altering decision. Join the military and fight the demon hordes or sell his soul to the Corpos. Both options having minimal appeal to a shut-in like Jack. Thanks to the high cost of living, and his sister’s medical expenses, Jack has never given much thought to what he’d want to do with life, always living paycheck to paycheck, scrounging just enough to keep the lights on and his sister safe. However, an Angel presents him with a third option.

End of book 3 is total trash
Revisado: 01-22-25
Ending of book 3 is so shit it makes me not want to continue the series.
Also, book 1 has a lot of instances of the narrator obviously misreading a word. saying fanatically when frantically would make more sense, or pronouncing visor as vee-sore.

Sam survived the end of the world. He fought demons and forged a unique legend that he has only begun to tap into the potential of. With his talking cat and a mysterious sage, Sam ventured to a multiverse shattered into floating islands, and then claimed one for his own. Now, his growing camp of survivors from two worlds is beset by danger from all sides. At least fighting these roaming monsters from the broken sky doubles as training for his newly awakened War Incarnate bloodline and Void magic.

PSA:Don't bother continuing this series
Revisado: 12-12-24
Nothing happens. Plot moves along at a crawl, wastes significant chunks of time on things that aren't ever relevant. Feels like the author doesn't have any plans and just writes whatever comes to him in the moment, so long as whatever comes to him doesn't advance the plot meaningfully.

Historia
In a world full of superpowers, Felix had a pretty crappy one. He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. At least, that was until Felix leveraged a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give himself a great deal of points.

nonsense, series was infinitely better before the crossovers
Revisado: 08-12-24
The series is nonsense at this point. The early parts of this book had me constantly wondering if pages or even chapters were missing because things were so all over the place.
really, the series began a steep decline in book 2 when it stopped being its own series and instead became a vehicle to collide with the authors other series(which I absolutely do not recommend, unless you like graphic sex with an ant woman)

Series has gone downhill.
Revisado: 12-13-22
Recent books have ended on pretty flat and unexciting notes, this series really should have found a way to wrap up 5+ books ago. I'm along for the ride cause I'm this far in and loved the early books, but for awhile now the story hasn't felt like a logical progression, it's felt like a cash cow milked way past its expiration date.

Too many things going on
Revisado: 07-13-22
Too many split up characters and separate stories going on for a single book of this length. Felt unfinished. Overall just kinda lackluster and sloppy feeling, like a character being outright told something as fact, then we don't hear his perspective for 60% of the book and when we get back to him he has a thought speculating the exact thing he was told as a fact. He isn't questioning the truth, it's treated as an independent thought as if he was never told anything. Stuff like that.
If you're this far into the series you might as well continue, but this and the last are significantly behind the first 3 in quality, this being the worst in the series. (not counting Nora's books, she's awful)
Also, the 2 additional narrators? They have 1 character apiece which is really weird and unnecessary, especially with both characters being very minor. Made it a bit jarring the few times they actually had lines.
