Historia
Dalinar Kholin's Alethi armies won a fleeting victory at a terrible cost. The enemy Parshendi summoned the violent Everstorm, which now sweeps the world with destruction and in its passing awakens the once peaceful and subservient parshmen to the horror of their millennia-long enslavement by humans. While on a desperate flight to warn his family of the threat, Kaladin Stormblessed must come to grips with the fact that the newly kindled anger of the parshmen may be wholly justified.

Wonderfully entertaining!

Revisado: 05-06-16
Of course with Heyer you have to stay with the first part of the story as she introduces the players and explains the current circumstances and once the stage is set be prepared for ridiculous though plausible circumstances that will make your belly shake with laughter. I really enjoyed the use of the Regency period slang of the "le Bon Ton" as well as the common vernacular of the era; it was "devilish good"
The added bonus for me personally was that her stories are free of salacious scenes that I have to fast forward past. Which suits me fine. I really think that is the mark of great authorship. Can an author write a delightfully entertaining story without the crutch of gratuitous sexuality to make the tale interesting? Well in my opinion Ms Heyer definitely meets the mark! Great narration by the way, not to be discounted.

Wonderful book and with excellent narration.
Revisado: 04-27-16
A surprising masterpiece superbly expressing, the depth , cost and ultimate joy of love, true love. I am actually disappointed in my lack of ability to trully praise this book sufficiently. When all my thoughts and emotions settle perhaps I will update this review. Currently I am at a loss except to say it is extremely well written, certain passages caused my pulse to race and my heart to skip a beat or two as I waited for questions to be answered feelings to be discovered and truths to be revealed.
The narration was masterfully and flawlessly rendered., enhancing the already wonderfully written story. I of course will obtain any additional offerings by this author and am very grateful to have had the opportunity to experience this work. I was moved in the region's of my heart not often touched by the written word.
One thing to note if your looking for a gimmicky fast paced story with ridiculous circumstances this book may not be for you. But, if you are looking to go on a journey over a seemingly calm sea with deep under currents and magnificent swells, you've come to the right place. Enjoy!

loved the story tolerated the narrator
barely,..
Revisado: 04-24-16
This is a very good historical romance and I actually enjoyed the story with many lol moments. But I must say the narrator simply did not suit the genre. I have heard Ms Dawe on some other works and she was perfect. But this type of story required a different narrative style. I had to leave off the audio book and read the book itself in the end. Bravo to the author however few books make me really laugh out loud and still maintain the dramatic bent of the story. This would probably make a very good movie. I was disappointed to see that the next book in the series is also narrated by Dawe. I actually wanted to read it out loud to myself to escape her repetitive inflections. the book is so good perhaps the author should allow another story reader to take a whack at it. If well done I'd buy a second version of the same book.
