SAD. Just a warning.
Revisado: 01-28-25
So sad. But realistic too. It was very well written. I did not care for the reader because for some reason it felt a little unnatural to me. Like AI or something

Three-time Christy Award winner Davis Bunn collaborates with Janette Oke to evoke the tumult of first-century Judea in the wake of Christ’s crucifixion. Although she prefers service in Pontius Pilate’s palace to a loveless marriage, Leah is betrothed to a Roman centurion. Before he can have Leah, however, he must go on a secret mission. But when a rabbi’s missing body sends Leah and Alban after the same answers, what they discover could change all they hold dear.

What a wonderful way to bring the Bible to life! It really helped me understand their customs better and in turn will help me in my Bible reading. The story is interesting, well written and true to life. I loved it!

A deceptively unclean story
Revisado: 09-03-24
This title kept surfacing as a classic to be enjoyed, but the story has several highly inappropriate descriptions of love scenes. The ending leaves a sour bitter taste. If you are looking for clean wholesome reading… this isn’t it.

The game Clue, in book form. Clean mystery! A rare pleasure!
Revisado: 08-23-24
Interesting, enjoyable, compelling, clean, and romance with story! My favorite kind of book and difficult to find one like it. Most mysteries are far too filled with violence for me. Yes, this is a murder mystery, but things are kept Sherlock Holmes rating.

The lead male voice was difficult to like
Revisado: 06-12-24
This story was sweet enough but lacked depth. It is purely a romance and everything in the story pertains to the growing of the relationship in someway. I prefer a book to be filled with story that includes some romance. I want to really know the characters as a friend and independent of their feelings about each other. I want to see them as they are and not who they are attracted to. This wasn’t a bad book- but I wouldn’t read it again.

Historia
In the age of fingertip access to answers and a limitless supply of ambitions, where do we find the God who was birthed in dirt and straw? Sara Hagerty found him when life stopped working for her. She found him when she was a young adult mired in spiritual busyness and when she was a new bride with doubts about whether her fledgling marriage would survive. She found him alone in the night as she cradled her longing for babies who did not come. She found him as she kissed the faces of children on another continent who had lived years without a mommy’s touch. In Every Bitter Thing Is Sweet, Hagerty masterfully draws from the narrative of her life to craft a mosaic of a God who leans into broken stories. Here readers see a God who is present in every changing circumstance. Most significantly, they see a God who is present in every unchanging circumstance as well.

God is Good
Revisado: 01-03-24
Just finished this book. It was very raw and real about hurt, pain, and how Jesus draws you near in those hours. It really addressed barrenness… but it applied to any kind of empty waiting. It was a good book. And a spoke of God’s Goodness. He is good even in the midst of unanswered prayers and sorrow. It is something I had learned before and am reminded of now. He is good and we don’t have to understand our circumstances to experience His goodness.
