Historia
Every asylum has its secrets. Some refuse to stay buried. When ambitious young psychiatrist Dr. Eleanor Harper accepts a position at the recently reopened Ashwood Asylum, she’s determined to leave behind the mistakes—and the darkness—of her past. But Ashwood is not what it seems. The staff are wary, the patients too familiar. Whispers in the halls seem to call her by name. Mirrors reflect a version of herself that she doesn’t recognize. The deeper Eleanor immerses herself in her work, the more the edges of reality begin to fray.

Couldn't like it, the plot felt like it has been done so many times. Narration was okay.

Historia
The battle between good and evil, God and Satan.A fight older than time. But is everything we know about this struggle just a matter of propaganda? Satan, Lucifer, the Devil, Shaytan sure thinks so. In this letter he tries to convince the human race, you, of his intentions. They are pure. Everything that was blamed on him was done as a smokescreen to cover more sinister motives.

Fascinating take on an age-old tale

Interesting and unique premise, a must-listen for all of us religious folks.
Would love to check out a longer version or dramatisation, if and when it gets published.

Historia
Alice's journey begins as all good journeys do: hitting on the sales guy at REI. After a tumultuous breakup, a quick career transition, family upheaval, and a sobriety journey that didn't fix her life quite as much as she expected it to, Alice decides that the only way to solve all her problems is to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. But as she begins preparing for the months-long quest, she realizes the answers she's seeking might not be on top of a snow-covered mountain. Especially since she just learned there was snow in California.

Loved it!!

Solid 4.5/5
The pacing was good and narrator was perfect. The journey of the protagonist kept me interested and the reflection at the end was beautifully done.
Will look forward to the future works of the author.

Historia
In a rash search for meaning and direction in her own life, Sarah Cromley finds herself on a getaway at Hidden Paradise, a nudist resort on the outskirts of Phoenix, Arizona. With only a “butt” towel in hand, she wanders the resort and tries to fit in until someone discovers the dead body of a long-term resident who happened to serve as president of the Society of International Nudists and Naturists (SINN).

Good short listen

4/5 stars
I enjoyed this audiobook, particularly its unique setting at a nudist resort, which added a fascinating layer to the story. The protagonist, Sarah, was well-developed and relatable, making her journey engaging. The supporting characters were also well-defined,
While the central mystery was intriguing, I was more invested in Sarah's personal interactions with the resort's other inhabitants. Those were really really good with different sorts of personalities.
However, I'm not a fan of the narrator, it took me a while getting used to.
Overall, this was a good, short and sweet listen, and I would definitely like to check more of the author's upcoming works in the future.

Historia
In April 1945, Soviet forces descended on Berlin in the final phase of the war in Europe. The fighting was fierce as soldiers fanatically loyal to the Nazi party - and those afraid of the vengeance their opponents might enact - sought to stave off the end of the regime as long as possible.

Insightful piece of history, Excellent narration!
Revisado: 09-04-24
I've explored WW2 through books and films, but learning about it from a city's perspective is a fascinating approach and it's pretty well done in this book.
The narrator is superb, and the pacing felt balanced. The level of detail is incredible, considering the book's length, although it may be overwhelming for those who are not into historical non-fiction. I'd recommend taking breaks between chapters.
I'd love a similar book on WW1 – perhaps a companion piece? :)
