Pleasant Surprise
Revisado: 05-07-24
Saw this series pop up on instagram numerous times. Decided to give it a shot and I really liked it. Good story, good characters, & when the author injected humor, it wasn’t cheesy stupid humor. But the audiobook, you’ll like it

Worth it
Revisado: 06-16-23
I like the approach Brent took with this book. You basically knew that Kylar was going to be alive at the end, which didn’t ramp up my anxiety level so o liked that. I also like the Prometheus like literal cliffhanger at the end of the book. Nicely done and I can’t wait until the sequel.

Boring, nothing exciting and too politically correct
Revisado: 02-26-23
I very rarely write a review, but I am disappointed in his book. I felt that it was rather pedestrian in the grand scheme of things, as well as trying to appease, some sort of woke audience.
I don’t care how author identify politically, because I expect authors to lean left. I would barely ever listen to a book if I did. I take very book and story for what it is, & try to appreciate stories for what they are. However, I think John went a little too far in trying to be with the current political views when it wasn’t needed.
As with all of his previous books, I’ve always been left wanting more. This is the first time I almost don’t care. I think he needs to go back to basics and keep the stories somewhat simpler.
But what do I know.
Will I buy his next book? Yes I will. The overall story is still good at entertaining although this was lacking in what John normally does. I guess you can’t expect perfection every time.

Awesome book by a great author. If you’ve read the other books , you know how good Steve McHugh is. Trust me, buy the book and enjoy listening to it. Of course , it’s even better with a glass of single malt scotch or whiskey.

Historia
Blasphemy is a victimless crime...Callie Penrose has taken over Castle Dracula all for herself, finally feeling like she has time to take a breath and relax. But the forces of Heaven and Hell have other plans. Callie quickly learns that removing her mother’s protection of binding Excalibur to her soul had very serious consequences. Namely, that it unleashed the Seven Deadly Sins on Kansas City. But they aren’t in town for mayhem - not directly. They came for a wedding. And a very dark prophecy that could bring the age-old Angel War to the streets of the City of Fountains.

Revisado: 08-24-20
I RARELY review a book, but I felt compelled to write something this time.
The book is just great , start to finish. There is so much I want to say, but I do not wan to give anything away. However, this answers some question, but it also makes a long awaited statement, which was a long time coming.
I think this might be the meat Temple book yet.

Another hit in the Circles in Hell Series
Revisado: 02-20-18
I had been waiting for this book since The Reluctant Demon, & as I expected, its phenomenal. The story of Steve Minion continues, this time with heaven on his side, & boy is Satan pissed.
Mr. Cain truly knows how to write satire. The book keeps you laughing, especially in Chapter 7. I was in the gym working out listening to Chapter 7 (confrontation between Steve & Satan) when I couldn’t control myself & started laughing hysterically. People were looking at me & I laughed even harder.
But the book, you won’t be disappointed!!
