Introduced me to a genre I didn't know I wanted
Revisado: 12-18-22
Although magical detective noir has been done before, it hasn't been done this well before. The narrator's voice and use of unfiltered background sounds, like taking a breath before an explanation or the creak of the wooden chair he repositioned himself in, helped the performance feel like it was coming from a hard boiled private investigator. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Historia
24/7 Demon Mart: Publisher's Pack features two books from the 24/7 Demon Mart series: The Graveyard Shift, book one, and Monster Burger, book two. It also includes the bonus Hell for the Holidays, a 24/7 Demon Mart Christmas special. Lloyd Wallace is the most clueless crossing guard the intersection of hell and earth has ever seen. So clueless, that he doesn't even realize the beer cave in the corner store where he works is the gateway to hell.

An entertaining combination of horror and comedy.
Revisado: 09-11-20
The high-energy narration perfectly complemented the pop-culture reference-laced humor used to tell the tale of dealing with the real life demons of high debt and a low paying job. I also loved Steve's ( "don't be a jag off") Pittsburgh dialect. Overall, these stories are great diversions from the Poe-like atmosphere of our current time. Please keep these books coming.

Each book in the series gets better.
Revisado: 11-14-19
This was the fourth Just Cause novel I have listened to, and it was the best so far. A well developed villain and human protagonists couched the action with some emotional depth. I can't wait for the next one.

Great prequel to the previous Just Cause stories.
Revisado: 11-11-19
A well developed origin story of Just Cause's main antagonist. The historical accuracy of the setting (1970s) made me reminisce of my days reading silver age comics in that decade.

Mr Bevan & Mr Sleep have upped their game
Revisado: 10-31-19
The author delivered a longer, more complex story with more laughs and social commentary in CF 7. Complemented by expanding the narrator's already significant story-telling skills with the use of music and sound effects, this audio book is my favorite of the series so far.

Historia
Smart, hilarious, and incisive, the Liberal Rednecks confront outdated traditions and intolerant attitudes, tackling everything people think they know about the South - the good, the bad, the glorious, and the shameful - in a laugh-out-loud funny and lively manifesto for the rise of a New South. Home to some of the best music, athletes, soldiers, whiskey, waffles, and weather the country has to offer, the South has also been bathing in backward bathroom bills and other bigoted legislation.

Revisado: 09-30-17
I started the book because Trae, Drew and Corey are three of my favorite comedians. Because I didn't look beyond the cover, I didn't expect more than great takes on topics about living in the South. Their collection of opinions, personal experiences and cultural essays all told with bitter sweet humor and hope made the book a recapitulation and catalyst for further thought about some times in my own life in Kentucky and the "T" of Pennsylvania I didn't realize I needed. That's the definition of art guys. Please keep it up.
