Historia
Rudi Graf is an engineer who always dreamed of sending rockets to the moon. But instead, he finds himself working alongside Wernher von Braun, launching V2 rockets at London for the Nazis from a bleak seaside town in occupied Holland. As the SS increases its scrutiny of the project, Graf, an engineer more than a soldier, has to muster all of his willpower to toe the party line. And when rumors of a defector circulate through the German ranks, Graf becomes a prime suspect.

Good start to a series

Very enjoyable, convoluted espionage/crime story. Especially good for those of us in around beltway.

Historia
“This is a story about an idea that I have,” Americana legend and self-proclaimed “recovering folk singer” Steve Earle states early in his enthralling Words + Music performance. “This job of mine becomes an artform spontaneously in 1965 - when Bob Dylan wants to be John Lennon, and John Lennon wants to be Bob Dylan, whether either one of them would admit it or not - and in that moment, rock and roll becomes art."

Classic Political Thriller
Revisado: 07-30-21
The story is a first rate political thriller, up there with classics like Seven Days In May and The Manchurian Candidate.
The performance is very well done (except for the dialects on a couple of minor characters).
The writing is less strong. It could have used some editorial tightening and some pruning in selection of words and descriptions.
But, that is a minor problem in the genre.

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Twisty in a good way
Revisado: 06-26-19
This is a psychological thriller based on a murder. Hitchcockian in plot in the best way. Although most of Hitchcock's classics had an appealing lead character. None of the characters are appealing in this one. It is the mystery that keeps a reader interested.

Historia
When 14-year-old Mattie Sullivan asks Spenser to look into her mother’s murder, he’s not completely convinced by her claim that the police investigation four years ago was botched. Mattie is gruff, street-smart, and wise beyond her years, left to care for her younger siblings and an alcoholic grandmother in a dilapidated apartment in South Boston. But her need for closure and her determination to make things right hit Spenser where he lives - they’re the very characteristics he abides by.
