Historia
The day I was told I’d never be able to have a child, my world came crashing down. My husband says he still loves me, but I lie awake at night, wishing we could have a family. One morning, my husband’s side of the bed is cold and empty. I hear a noise and head downstairs. In the middle of the rug in my living room is a wooden drawer. Swaddled inside, with perfect rosy cheeks and beautiful round blue eyes, a baby gazes up at me.

Henri Thibadeaux, our 19-year-old protagonist, accompanies his two childhood friends to a Catholic, Cajun, outdoor fish-fry dance. Amazing story! I probably would never have came across this book except that I met the author at a church gathering. We spent a couple of hours talking and he mentioned his book. Absolutely awesome! Highly recommend!!!!

Reads like a Harlequin romance novel
Revisado: 05-27-22
I kept having to look back to make sure that I was reading a book by Mark Goodwin. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the other books I have read by him. I find it irritating to listen to this book which sounds like it was written by a lovestruck teenager.
The narrator reads it likes some kind of Harlequin romance novel. the lead female character is at times acting strong and then goes into lovestruck teenage girl fits.
if you are looking at this to be your first Mark Goodwin novel please look at another one of his books. I suggest the days of Noah. I am finding it very difficult to even continuing to this series.

This requires a workbook and thus is not a good option for an audiobook. I did not get far enough to review the actual content.

Historia
Cass is having a hard time since the night she saw the car in the woods, on the winding rural road, in the middle of a downpour, with the woman sitting inside - the woman who was killed. She's been trying to put the crime out of her mind; what could she have done, really? It's a dangerous road to be on in the middle of a storm. Her husband would be furious if he knew she'd broken her promise not to take that shortcut home. And she probably would only have been hurt herself if she'd stopped.

Historia
Kirsten Hammarstrom hasn't been home to her tiny corner of rural Wisconsin in years - not since the mysterious disappearance of a local teenage girl rocked the town and shattered her family. Kirsten was just nine years old when Stacy Lemke went missing, and the last person to see her alive was her boyfriend, Johnny - the high school wrestling star and Kirsten's older brother. No one knows what to believe - not even those closest to Johnny - but the event unhinges the quiet farming community and pins Kirsten's family beneath the crushing weight of suspicion.

I think this is one of Koontz's best! After trying to read 77 Shadow Street which is perhaps Koontz's worst, I was very pleased! You won't go wrong here.

Boring!
Revisado: 12-12-12
Would you try another book from Dean Koontz and/or Peter Berkrot?
Yes, I would read another Dean Koontz book. I have read many and loved all the rest. I really like the Odd Thomas books!
BUT...
This is the worst Koontz book ever!If you can make it through the first 12 hours, you “might” find the last 2 hours interesting. Seriously, you might like this book better if you just start with 2nd file and don’t bother listing to the first 6 hours at all.
What was most disappointing about Dean Koontz’s story?
It just went on and on with details that did not matter to the final story.
Which scene was your favorite?
Spoiler alert! When a certain doctor got shot
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
mind-numbing.... bored to death

Very Sexy and Hot!
Revisado: 10-29-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definately recommend this book to a friend. It is well written, keeps your attention and is very erotic.
What other book might you compare Decadent to and why?
If you like the 50 Shades of Grey and Bared to You series, you will definately like this book.
Have you listened to any of Lexi Maynard’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to Lexi Maynards performances of Shayla Black's first book in the Wicked Lovers Series and she does a wonderful job of performing the voices and bringing forth the characters in the books.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Sexy, erotic, spine tingling,
Any additional comments?
Definately a Five Star Overall....Highly Recommend.

Historia
Gideon Cross: As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction…my every desire…mine. My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful…except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession.…

Wonderful story
Revisado: 10-27-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definately recommend this book and the first one "Bared To You" to anyone that enjoyed 50 Shades of Grey. I really think that I could relate more to the characters in this book more so than in 50 Shades Of Grey. Just an all around great book. The characters were very realistic. Very touching. Loved it!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ava was my favorite character. I felt so bad for her because she loved Gidian so much and he continued to do things that she did not understand.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene in the book was the final scene when everything came together.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did not want to turn the audio off. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next.
Any additional comments?
Loved It!
I will listen to both of the books again before the 3rd one comes out...Can't wait.
