Historia
On the world of Colchis, mighty religions rule a decaying society in the name of absent gods - until the arrival of Lorgar. Primarch, prophet, leader of destiny, the Golden One is raised by Kor Phaeron, priest of the Covenant, to be his weapon in a quest for power. As religious war spreads across the planet, spearheaded by the Brotherhood of Lorgar, the primarch is plagued by visions of the future and the coming of the Emperor.

The planet of Caliban exists much as it has for thousands of years - the knightly orders protect the common people, fighting back the beasts that lurk in the depths of the seemingly endless forests. Young Zahariel and Nemiel aspire to join the greatest of the orders, led by the example of mighty Lion El'Jonson and his vision of a peaceful and unified world. But the coming of the Imperium brings new concerns and a new destiny for the Lion as part of the Great Crusade, and the sons of Caliban must decide if they will follow him to glory among the stars.

First Primarch Book I Like
Revisado: 01-18-25
I've already gone through the Guilliman and Leeman Russ Primarch books and this is the first one that I actually like. You get a decent look into not only Magnus but also Ahriman which is a plus. My gripes with the first two Primarch books is that either they didn't deal with the Primarch enough or the story just wasn't all that interesting. I'm not going to say it's a masterpiece, but it's definitely better than the first two.

Historia
Long before the coming of the Imperium, the realm of Ultramar was ruled by Roboute Guilliman, the last Battle King of Macragge. Even after learning of his true heritage as a primarch son of the Emperor of Mankind, he strove to expand his domain as efficiently and benevolently as possible, with the XIII Legion Ultramarines as his alone to command.

70% Ork War, 30% Guilliman
Revisado: 12-09-24
I bought this book hoping/expecting to learn a lot about Guilliman considering he is literally the Title of the book. However the book mostly focused on the battle war with the Orks and discussions between the Ultramarines on what is worth preserving and how they should go about the battle. I also wasn't a fan of the unique way the Ultramarines communicate in the format of 2 opinions (Theoretical and Practical). While it's interesting and gives you some insight on the Ultramarines identity, the format makes the dialogue plain and ironically feels like an inefficient form of communication at times. Overall, the story was average and you probably get more backstory on the Orks than Roboute Guilliman.
Theoretical: A book titled after a Primarch might be expected to focus on their Lore. Practical: One should endeavor not to judge the book by the cover.

overall it's a great story, admittingly I liked the part regarding the spiders more than a human story though but it was fascinating nonetheless.

Historia
"Do you have any notes for me?" Actors always ask for notes on their performance, and they will take them from just about anyone. Ron Marasco's Notes to an Actor grew out of the actor's profession. In his years as an actor, scholar, and teacher of acting, Mr. Marasco found that most acting books were either outdated classics that were rarely read, or quasi-textbooks that actors only "skimmed." So he developed Notes to an Actor, a compact, user-friendly audiobook geared specifically to the way actors work.

Historia
The actors in James Franco’s brilliant debut novel include a McDonald’s drive-thru operator who spends his shift trying on accents; an ex-child star recalling a massive beachside bacchanal; hospital volunteers and Midwestern transplants; a vampire flick starlet who discovers a cryptic book written by a famous actor gone AWOL; and the ghost of River Phoenix. Then there’s Franco himself, who prowls backstage, peering out between the lines - before taking the stage with fascinating meditations on his art, along with nightmarish tales of excess.

It sure is something.....
Revisado: 11-26-17
Personally I found the book to be a rollercoaster entertainment wise. It would have me interested then bored, then interested, then board etc etc.
The format of the book is strange, it does have a format but it's also a mess, and I there were a few times I was pretty confused regarding the consistency of the stories.
It could simply be the artistic direction the author wishes to take it in. Just a hunch, it's all James hidden in alter egos haha. Still I did find a lot I could relate to, inner darkness, inner truths, things we keep hidden. I don't judge.
I was hoping there would be more in regards to acting though since I am also on the same path, but I'll take it for what it is.

Extremely basic advice explained for hours
Revisado: 03-03-16
I could not even finish the book, dropped it halfway due to sheer boredom/disappointment. The 7 habits are extremely basic advice which is not necessarily a bad thing as sometimes it's easy to forget them but they do not need hour long explanations for each as it reiterates the same point 100 different ways. This book should have been much shorter. I can not honestly recommend this book unfortunately.
