Historia
Martin A. Lee traces the dramatic social history of marijuana, from its origins to its emergence in the 1960s as a defining force in a culture war that has never ceased. Lee describes how the illicit marijuana subculture overcame government opposition and morphed into a dynamic, multibillion-dollar industry. Colorful, illuminating, and at times irreverent, this is a fascinating listen for recreational users and patients, students and doctors, musicians and accountants, Baby Boomers and their kids, and anyone who has ever wondered about the secret life of this ubiquitous herb.

This book's content will make you angry
Revisado: 01-22-17
The US government has been lying about pot for over 80 years. It has been used as a medicine since 10,000 BC, has no addictive properties, and is impossible to overdose on. The absolute lies have been spread far and wide, not counting the amount of money spent to keep it illegal added to the cost of jails to hold all those arrested for possession of only a couple joints. Criminal, indeed.

Historia
The extraordinary Siddhartha Mukherjee has written a biography of the gene as deft, brilliant, and illuminating as his extraordinarily successful biography of cancer. Weaving science, social history, and personal narrative to tell us the story of one of the most important conceptual breakthroughs of modern times, Mukherjee animates the quest to understand human heredity and its surprising influence on our lives, personalities, identities, fates, and choices.

New knowledge for me
Revisado: 08-12-16
I could not stop listening to The Gene. The author takes us through the history and scientific discoveries about the human genes, then current red hearse, and finally the risks and rewards in modifying them. The best news is that this book is written so that you don't have to have a mathematics or science background to almost completely understand the amazing and wonderful world of genetics. Enjoy

Science fiction at it's best
Revisado: 04-16-16
I'm not generally a fan of science fiction, but this book was so good and well written that I am going to try
another book by Ian Douglas soon. Do yourself a favor and see what you think about this one.

Historia
ESPN began as an outrageous gamble with a lineup that included Australian Rules Football, rodeo, and a rinky-dinky clip show called Sports Center. Today the empire stretches far beyond television into radio, magazines, mobile phones, restaurants, video games and more, while ESPN's personalities have become global superstars to rival the sports icons they cover.

This behind the scenes is exactly what I hoped for. Especially great was the stories about the beginnings of ESPN. Listen and enjoy.
