Freedom's Light is a work of fiction, yet reading it, it felt like a factual book. The story centers around the September Eleven Attack and the changes it brought in the life of an average American. Luckily the September Eleven Attack is treated in a slightly impersonal manner, where although people are devastated, no one close in the protagonist's life is affected. Hence, as a soldier, Rob goes on a country mission to eliminate the terrorists and does not have a personal mission to fight against injustice. We are introduced to the highs and lows of a soldier's life and the various threats (both environmental and terrorist) that they have to overcome in the pursuit of their goals. There are losses of lives and many injuries, but, with clever planning and high skills, the objective is ultimately met.
