Historia
Pete Greig is a worldwide authority and the face of a generation when it comes to prayer. One of the founders of the 24-7 Prayer movement, he has seen, experienced, and chronicled amazing works of God in the world. While you might imagine him to be puffed up, Pete Greig is entirely the opposite. He is enchanting, down-to-earth, friendly, and most of all, very normal - and yet he tells preposterous tales about prayer (and they're true). He is basically a regular dude who loves to talk with God.

Powerful

This book invites the reader to dive deep into a rich reading of the Bible as metaphor, a spiritual rather than literal reading of the texts. Powerful book!

Historia
Why is religion still around in the 21st century? Why do so many still believe? And how do various traditions still shape the way people experience everything from sexuality to politics, whether they are religious or not? In Why Religion? Elaine Pagels looks to her own life to help address these questions. Drawing upon the perspectives of neurologists, anthropologists, and historians, as well as her own research, Pagels opens unexpected ways of understanding persistent religious aspects of our culture.

Great book: Misleading Title
Revisado: 01-12-23
While I have loved many of this authors books, and this one is no exception, I was a little disappointed, as I expected more of a deep dive into how religion can benefit one’s life despite its flaws. That said, the author allows the reader a glimpse into her life, and how it shaped the writing of her other books. Her story is heartbreaking and hopeful and I loved it, despite the misleading title.

Historia
“My first lessons in spirituality and yoga had nothing to do with a mat, but everything to do with waking up. They included angels, seeing God, and being in Heaven. But, believe me, not the way you might think.” So begins Revolution of the Soul. What comes next sounds like a riveting memoir filled with uncensored moments of joy, pain, wonder, and humor. Except, this book is so much more than that. Seane's real purpose is to guide us into a deep, gut-level understanding of our highest Self through yoga philosophy and other tools for emotional healing....

Historia
Like millions of her millennial peers, Rachel Held Evans didn't want to go to church anymore. The hypocrisy, the politics, the gargantuan building budgets, the scandals - church culture seemed so far removed from Jesus. Yet despite her cynicism and misgivings, something kept drawing her back. And so she set out on a journey to understand the Church and to find her place in it.

Revisado: 09-19-16
I have read the paperback of this book 8 or nine times and given away as many copies. I was initially nervous that the audio version might be substandard, but I should not have worried. The story was incredible. The reader did an excellent job. She saying when they were singing. She read an animated different voices. I highly recommend this!
