I loved the Josh Duffy character in Armored and was pleased to see him back in a new story that's just as exciting as the first! Great character development and nice to see Nicole in a bigger role. I disagree with the negative comments about the narrator - I think he does a perfect job conveying Josh's never-give-up attitude and absolute decency no matter what he faces. The narrator also does a great job with the different voices and accents, making it easy to tell the characters apart. I'm looking forward to the next installment!

Never Disappointing!

I love Chet & Bernie mysteries! I've listened to all of them and this latest adventure does not disappoint - the perfect mix of great characters, fun stories, humor (I'll be chuckling about Barney Small and Champ for a while) and, of course, Chet!

Absorbing and suspensful

Another interesting and absorbing case for our favorite detective duo. Narration was perfect. Could had done without the quotes between chapters, though - they add nothing to the story and interrupt the flow.

Solid mystery if you don't mind a slower pace

A bit slow at times, but I enjoyed the mystery and the characters. The narration was mostly excellent - except for the main character, who had a most unpleasant voice. I wondered if I'd make it through the entire book, but luckily the story and voices of other characters were engaging enough to overcome Charles's flat delivery.

Mystery and Romance

Interesting mystery and setting, although the story dragged a bit at times. The main characters were likable, and I appreciated the clean romance and themes of forgiveness and family ties. The narrator did an excellent job and gave each character a unique and recognizable voice. This was my first book by this author and I look forward to listening to more.

I enjoyed the characters and the mystery, which kept me guessing right to the end. The narration was excellent, and the different voices - especially Nick's - fit the characters well.

Fun and entertaining!

At first, I wondered about the narration, but I think that was just the jarring difference from the slow, male voice in the audiobook I just finished. In no time at all, any doubts about the narration were gone. The narrator perfectly captures Anne in spirit and personality. The story itself is excellent with many twists and unexpected revelations that keep you guessing. Time well spent!
